About this deal
Because there is an explanation for everything, the story mainly revolves around Max's character progress which has already started and we've already seen Riftan being really considerate with her when he fucking doesnt misunderstand every damn thing. I also liked the focus on her relationships with the other characters in the book, and that it didn't completely revolve around Riftan.
I know mental abuse is difficult to get over with but after all Riftan has done, she communicates more with the mage than her own husband.
Tried to read again from the time Maxi and Riftan's last convo, yet its a very heart-piercing moment until the moment when Riftan tried to catch her at the dock, . Meanwhile, Kiel and Sidina sliced the bread and cheese, and the rest of the mages distributed the food once it was ready. Printed versions will be available in 2024 but we don’t know yet if the printed version will include the 2 seasons or not.
The story is told by her, and she's presented like a traumatized insecure girl who suffered the constant abuse of her father, but once her environment is changed and is surrounded by a caring husband and supportive people, she starts to realize that maybe she is more than what she was told. The world building is interesting and complex without being totally confusing, and I'm excited to see where it goes.Sailors sing all night while the pass through sirens territory; next day Maxi enjoys song by a young bard. I mean, I knew it was coming, it’s like the third time I’ve read it, but 😭 Preparing myself for all the upcoming angst! Max was abused by her father, forcing her to keep the marriage intact if she wanted a peaceful life. The morning after their wedding night, Max was left by her husband Riftan, who went in her father's stead to fight dragons.
