I have all the above tat which is cool and I still like them on the shelf but this new release looks awful and there's nothing new so far transfer wise. The video has good black levels and there is a good amount of detail some scenes more than others but good detail overall. STUDIOCANALowns one of the most important film libraries in the world, boasting nearly, 6,000 titles from 60 countries. The T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is a robot from the future, sent back in time to save the young boy John Connor, whom will grow up to become the leader of the human resistance against the merciless sentient robots.

There's a reason at the beginning of the 4k disc, you see the odd disclaimer saying like 'This film has been remastered in 3D' - proof that it was the wrong master used. The digital effects of the liquid metal on the T-1000 do look a little dated but I have always loved this movie and the story and action keep you glued even if most of us know many of the lines by heart already. Here's a little hint for those wondering if there's a metric whereby reactions to home video releases can be measured: look at our Forum. We're all in for a proper filmic transfer but that's one helluva nasty looking COVID designed set I'll not be going near it. I would really like to be wrong, because there is apparently a "Previously Completed 4K Restoration" that looks great, it is just not what was put on the previous disc.It's a shame that one of the greatest sequels of all time, and a movie that likely makes many Top 100 films of all time lists, generates quite so much controversy on what should have been a universally celebrated native-4K Ultra HD Blu-ray bow. I believe I have the 1st release on 1080p blu-ray so the video quality was most likely much better in the later release of the regular blu-ray. What more could be said of what is widely hailed as one of the greatest action movies of all time and almost universally considered the best sequel ever made?

The dual-layered UHD66 disc sits comfortably opposite a Region A locked, BD50 disc inside a black, eco-vortex case with a glossy slipcover. Terminator 2: Ultimate Edition was released ONLY on DVD which contained new and extended scenes that fleshed out a little more of the story. If the 4K restoration is great and they botched the job of transferring it to disc, then this "might" be okay.

As is typical practice for a 3D production workflow, digital noise reduction was applied to take an edge off the film's in-built grain.
