The strong bassline driving the funky beat in The Cat Empire’s Fishies sounds playful through the Sennheisers – it bounces and twangs and is full of life. A new feature on the E10C is a clever three-button remote that works across iOS and Android. Sound quality hasn’t really changed, but if you’re after a bassier sound then that’s no bad thing.

The sound quality is excellent. The E11C is similar in sound to the SoundMAGIC E50 models. But the E11C has a little more mid and upper-bass warmth to it. To sum up, the bass is well controlled, The mids crystal and the treble super smooth. It’s suitable for all genres, but is outstanding when listening to vocals, acoustic recordings and music making use of “real” instruments. (Sorry techno, you still sound great too though!) Mic & Controls: 9/10 They hold their own, though, thanks to a clean, organised and direct presentation that’s immediately rewarding. They’re also comfortable and easy to live with, which goes a long way when you’re looking for the perfect pair of in-ears. The Sennheisers’ warm, full-bodied presentation throws the E80Cs’ hard edges into the spotlight. There’s a brightness to the in-ears that never quite goes away no matter much you run them in. The SoundMagic E50 shed most of the low frequency emphasis, giving them a more balanced, grown-up sound that I find more satisfying. However, if bonus bass is what you’re after then the SoundMagic E10C pull off this sound signature better than the rival Sennheiser CX3.00. Should you buy the SoundMagic E10C? SoundMagic might have got rid of the red cable from its headphones, but otherwise the E11Cs look identical to their forebears, with a typical cylindrical, aluminium casing design and a choice of small, medium and large silicone tips, which are also now silver. There’s a storage case, too, which is handy for avoiding cable spaghetti when stashing them in a bag.One of the reasons headphones and earphones in India are more expensive than overseas is because of the Goods & Services Tax in India. There are a few niggles, though. These are still very much big bass earphones, and as such they can sound quite bulky. For five years, Soundmagic’s E10s in some form or another have been our go-to budget headphones, and although sound quality hasn’t taken a leap forward this time, it’s still remarkable that Soundmagic finds ways to implement improvements without bumping up the price.Normally a remote that works with both types of phone will include only one button, enabling you to play/pause music but not adjust the volume. The SoundMagic E10C do allow you to do the latter with both iPhone and Android handsets. There’s no switch involved, either. It just works.

I also tested them with Moto G5s plus and Nokia 6.1 plus.Same results......I am surprised how they got so many 5 stars!😧 Well there are as many types of ears as there are humans!🙂 The colourful signature won’t please anyone looking for a neutral listen, but voices still have great texture and depth. Instruments pop with plenty of detail, but can be subtle when they need to be.Technically we could just rehash the equivalent section of the E10S review here, but the E10Cs inspire us to say some more about how good they are. At this price, the Award-winning Sennheiser Momentum M2 in-ears easily best the SoundMagics with a richer, more nuanced and dynamic performance that’s more engaging to listen to. SoundMagic tends to take an evolutionary approach to its in-ear headphones, with little tweaks over the years adding up to the honed design you see in the E80Cs.
