About this deal

DNA is made of a non-Newtonian compound, which means that it changes its state of matter when different amounts of pressure are applied to it. When you are running faster, you apply more pressure to the midsole. We've spent the past few weeks putting the Brooks Glycerin 18 through it's still one of the best options out there for those who care about comfort over speed. The Brooks Glycerins are one of the most well known running shoes on the market. Most anyone who is into running will know the shoe.

Like its predecessors, the Glycerin 18 is one of the best shoes out there for runners who want comfort above all else, both in the midsole and in the cosy upper. Although the updates are minimal, the modifications made are noticeable in comparison to the Glycerin 17, specifically around the softness of the upper. An issue with the traction is that the Glycerin has small grooves in the outsole which collect small pebbles. This decreases the lifespan of the outsole, disrupts the traction slightly, and just feels gross underfoot. This is only a small gripe since the pebbles it collects are so small. Guaranteed durability In this case, Brooks realized they hit pretty darn close to the mark with the 16s and 17s and haven’t changed much. But the changes do improve on the product from last year. For those running in harsh winter conditions, the midsole does freeze a little bit. The ride becomes less soft, and you might be better off choosing a shoe with a TPU style midsole. The Glycerin is still a great choice. Exceptional traction

The new, softer upper flexes with the foot better and feels even less constraining while on the run. And they were able to cut down on the weight of the shoe by using more of the DNA Loft foam in this design. OUR VERDICT The Brooks Glycerin 19 is a medium-soft, max-cushioned trainer with a superb, comfortable, plush upper that’s best suited to easy-paced runs. The midsole is made of DNA Loft, a soft midsole compound that mixes rubber, EVA foam, and air to deliver a comfy underfoot feel.As I said in the introduction, I put 5000 miles into a previous model of the Glycerin. Was that a good idea? No, but this does speak to the durability of the shoe. Our testers loved the jacquard mesh upper of the Glycerin 18. They felt that it provided stellar support with no compromises in comfort thanks to the padded heel collar and adequate stretch. Ride transitions are very smooth in both the Glycerin and the Ghost due to their single-density midsoles. Liese: "I found the Glycerin to be soft yet not overly so. It maintained a lot of protection for my knees on long runs while having a great underfoot feel that didn’t slow me down."
