About this deal

With this new model, the brand offers us a case that lies flat. From a dimensional point of view, it measures 440 (W) x 399 (D) 176 (H) mm. It remains quite imposing and will therefore have difficulty fitting into your Hemnes TV cabinet. However, note that it will accept motherboards in SSI-CEB and ATX format at most. It fits perfectly in my TV stand and looks very unassuming. It is not small, but it is also not overly large either - xbox 360 for scale.

Would love to see someone more knowledgeable than I build in this case and really test out the thermals with different configs. However, these are not its only advantages since it has a mesh front for better ventilation. Similarly, you can adjust the light intensity of the status LEDs, which is very practical if you want to be in complete darkness in front of a small movie in the evening. Thanks to its size however, there’s support for SSI-CEB, Micro-ATX, Mini-ITX, and even ATX motherboards. While we are at it, SilverStone recommends installing a motherboard with PCIe x16 speed on the second slot for maximum graphics card clearance (up to 340mm). CPU coolers, on the other hand, receive only 146mm of clearance, but that’s to be expected given the GD11’s orientation and height. For the rest, this model has three slots 3.5″ also compatible 2.5″. To make available a large amount of media. Otherwise, we know that the graphics card will be limited to 340 mm. You’ll agree, with 146 mm for the CPU cooling unit, you might as well go for an AIO and that’s possible since the GD11 is compatible with 240 mm heat sinks.

Then, at the bottom, we have the I/O Shield slot of the card with two slots for small fans just above. Finally, we end with the seven vertical expansion slots for daughterboard mounting. Top: In the last few years, we can’t really say that HTPC type cases are very popular. However and against all odds, Silverstone resurrects the format with the GD11. A new box that will not swear on a TV stand! G11: a new HTPC format from Silverstone!

If there was one thing I can't understand about the case is why they did not simply put another fan slot here. Frankly the front of the case has plenty of room where they could have allowed for an extra fan there and/or upping the aio sizing to either a 280 or even a 360 depending on the GPU used. If I was brave or stupid I might fiddle with modding the case and adding a 280 aio and/or extra fan. Very slight re-design of the case would have allowed for a lot more options for cooling regarding fan count, size, and/or aio options. In short, the connectivity is similar to what was offered by the Sugo 15. At least Silverstone doesn’t give in to the minimalism trend and offers something functional with its two USB-A. The bottom: Airflow/heat question.... I have thought about buying an AIO 4090/4080 and/or an nvida card itself to have the pass through air flow. Any suggestions on - in theory - what style of card would breath/cool the best in this case? Had thought about the nvidia card with the pass through fan pulling air up and adding that right (top) thin fan to help pull that air out the top?
