About this deal

However, some brands have rushed these and as a result the market is flooded by devices that are simply not good enough, even for convenience. But was the Hypervolt Go rushed, or did Hyperice come up with a well thought out mini massager? Handily, the charger comes with a total of four plug adapters, so the massage gun can be used abroad. A charging indicator ring glows yellow while the device is charging, changing to green when it is fully charged. The Hyperice mission is to help everyone on Earth move, live, and be better. They do this by creating high-tech recovery products to relieve muscle tension and restore your body and mind to their best versions. The company acquired its name from its very first product—a portable ice compression device designed for professional athletes to recover faster and stronger. Nowadays some of their most popular products are their massage guns. The Hyperice Hypervolt GO 2 is a solid piece of kit. It really is the smaller version of the big Hypervolt 2, and I mean this as a compliment. The main difference between the two – apart from the size, of course – is that the Hypervolt GO 2 has a slightly angled handle.

Little official scientific research has been conducted on the effects of massage guns, but many medical professionals have expressed that these devices have certain benefits. Doctors often recommend massage guns to patients who want to reduce muscle soreness/stiffness, improve flexibility, and increase range of motion after an injury or difficult workout. Massage guns like the Hypervolt work by using percussion technology to increase blood flow and soften tissue, ultimately reducing muscle pain. Theragun is similar to Hypervolt and works in the same way. However, Theragun products are typically more expensive than Hypervolt. Again, as I mentioned above, there’s no carry case for these little attachments, but if I was traveling, I’d probably leave the bullet head at home. Hyperice Hypervolt Go 2 review: Performance Operating the Hypervolt GO 2 is easy-peasy. You long-press the one button, wait for the LED band to turn on, press the same button once more – no need to hold it – and the gun starts vibrating. Press it once more, and the vibration frequency increases slightly; pressing it once more will make the motor go the fastest it can.As another compact massage gun, we prefer this Ekrin profile due to its added conveniences that make it ideal for travel and storage. Unlike the above Hypervolt Go 2, this sleek and comfortable Bantam massage gun comes equipped with four available attachments, as well as a handy carrying case to keep everything nice and tidy whether thrown in a training tote or carry-on. Our tester also highlighted the included USB-C charging cable, which made charging through a laptop or extra wall adapter plenty feasible. If you were thinking of hitting your glutes, quads, or hamstring with pressure in hope for a deep percussive massage, this device will disappoint you. It’s also important to ensure that the force you use to apply the massage fun to your muscle is reasonably light, making some smaller stall force massage gun models a great fit,” says Hamer. As a result, the Hypervolt Go is not a deep tissue percussive therapy device. The Go feels more like a vibrational massage gun rather than a percussive therapy gun. At first glance the Go is smaller than the two regular sized Hypervolts (we’ll say about 30% smaller than the large device). It’s definitely not the smallest mini massage gun in the market, perhaps Hyperice should’ve cut the size a little further.

Hyperice has been in business since 2010. It is a global recovery and movement enhancement technology company specializing in percussion, thermal, and vibration technology. Within a few seconds of using the Hypervolt Go 2, I knew I was hooked. The device was quieter than most massage guns I’d researched in the past, likely due to Hyperice’s patented QuietGlide technology, so I was able to watch television or have a conversation without the device drowning everything out. The ergonomic handle was comfortable and easy to maneuver, and I liked that I was able to massage hard-to-reach places without needing to twist around or ask for help. But, as much as we had a fierce debate over the Theragun Mini’s value for money, we had no arguments over this device. For its steep price, this is a disappointing hardware. The low stall force gives it away. Compared to other devices in its category, it’s simply not good enough. Like other mini massage guns we’ve reviewed recently, the smaller size does come with some tradeoffs. If you think you’ll be getting the same percussive massage goodness of its elder brethren, you will come away disappointed. I was surprised to discover how often I reached for the Hypervolt Go 2. I was worried it would be something I used out-of-the-box and forgot about, but I’ve been grabbing it almost every single day. It was a great way to relieve any post-work tension in my shoulders, and I loved trying it on places I knew I carried stress like my hips and IT band.Aside from the noise, physically, there’s not much we don’t like about the GO. It looks great. Feels great. All in all, it get’s two thumbs up from our team. The Shape team loves to move. We’re Pilates enthusiasts, yogis, marathoners, weightlifters, and CrossFitters who work out three to seven times a week. Translation? We have a high bar for our recovery tools. So we volunteered our own sore muscles to test the 14 massage guns collectively offered by Hyperice and Renpho. We can, however, recommend it to those who already own any of the regular sized Hypervolts just as a complimentary gun. The heads are interchangeable, so it makes sense to get one if you need something smaller and more portable.
