About this deal

Heading indoors to this produce stand, the Pixel’s shot is brighter and compensates better for the harsh lighting above. The iPhone warmed things up a bit too much in response to the cool lighting, and the image is overall dimmer than the Pixel’s. I think Google’s phone wins here.

Other improvements within Android 12 include changes to widget settings, a one-handed mode and a new AppSearch feature. This allows you to search for stuff within an app in the phone’s settings menu, rather than launching the app itself. March 2023 saw the Pixel 6 Pro get a bunch of new features, as part of the latest Google Pixel Feature Drop. The most notable is the faster Night Sight which debuted on the Pixel 7 lineup, and promises to speed up the process of taking low-light photos. Thanks to new Tensor-powered algorithms that has come to the Pixel 6 series. The Pixel 6 Pro visually welcomes the users with its 6.71-inch OLED display, featuring 3120 x 1440 pixel resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate and an in-screen fingerprint scanner. With 512 pixels per inch clarity, it's one of the crispest and brightest QHD ones you could possibly find among the 2022 flagships on the market that also offer great colour accuracy. On the other hand, the fingerprint scanner isn't as great and we found it rather cumbersome to use at times. Battery Life: The Biggest Weakness According to Google, this delivers performance that’s 80% faster than the Snapdragon 765G-powered Pixel 5, but the company is keener to shout about the chip’s machine-learning capabilities, which power a host of AI-based features. There’s improved speech recognition and instant translation of messages, while Tensor’s new image signal processor (ISP) enables a host of clever new features for the cameras (more on that later). It’s really quite effective at removing stuff, too. In the below examples, I’ve removed both a lamppost and a skyscraper, and while it’s not completely seamless – you can see some clues where they’ve been deleted – the Pixel 6 got rid of what I wanted rather well.

Google’s cut-throat Pixel 6 is a force to be reckoned with

Video quality is a step up from previous Pixels, but is still not nearly as good as Google’s still photography, and lags behind Apple and Samsung. The Pixel 6 Pro’s low-light capabilities are astonishing. Whereas the iPhone 12 Pro’s night-time shots suffer from an orange tint, the Pixel’s have nothing of the sort: it boosts the brightness without unnaturally tweaking the colours, with very little visual noise. Google’s flagship handset in the previous Pixel 6 range is the super-sized Google Pixel 6 Pro. If you’re looking for top-end Android phone, but don't necessarily need the latest model, there aren't many better options than this. Google Pixel 6 Pro design and display What I can test, however, is whether the Pixel 6 lives up to Google’s lofty performance claims. Running the Geekbench 5 test, which scores both single- and multicore CPU performance, the Pixel 6 scored 1,031 and 2,843 respectively. Compare those figures to the Pixel 5 and we’re looking at a roughly 75% increase in raw speeds.

See what makes Pixel 6 Pro our smartest and fastest Pixel yet. It's fully loaded with powerful 5G connectivity and enhanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® performance. The ultrawide camera is the weakest of the three. With a 0.7x magnification, it isn’t quite as “ultrawide” as I would like, compared with rivals that have 0.5x magnification and a wider field of view. But it produces really good images that are a little bit softer on detail than the main camera. With all these impressive specs and features, there had to be some weakness that might deter some from it and with the Pixel 6 Pro, it's the battery. It's certainly more than adequate for most tasks and provides a full-day usage, but we have noticed that it doesn't last as long when the phone is pushed harder than usual with graphically intensive tasks or when shooting 4K video or actively using the GPS. This is surprising because the 4,905 mAh capacity here is nothing to poke fun at in terms of pure numbers. The fast charging is also a bit underwhelming here - capping at 30W. At the very least, it goes to 50% in 30 mins. Wireless charging, on the other hand, is acceptable with up to 23W. Pixel 6 Pro: Price UK Portraits on Pixel represent the nuances of different skin tones for all people beautifully and authentically. This comparison between the two phones’ night modes certainly surprised me. Right away, the Pixel’s picture using Night Sight is brighter. The plant on the left is fully visible, as are the pumpkins and flowers in the foreground. The shadows remain deep, but they don’t overpower anything else in the photo, unlike the iPhone’s shot. That one is very dark, with the pink flowers on the left almost invisible.

The Pixel 6 Pro is substantially cheaper than the iPhone, so is it worth picking up instead?

It’s the same story with its gaming capabilities. Reaching an average frame rate of 83fps in the GFXBench Manhattan 3 onscreen benchmark, the Pixel 6 Pro is well suited for any game you might care to throw at it, and you might even be able to use that 120Hz screen to its full potential, too. The Pixel 6 also gets a significant leg up when it comes to gaming. In the GFXBench onscreen Manhattan 3 test, the Pixel 6 achieved an average frame rate of 79fps, which, if you take a look at the graph below, is almost three times faster than last year’s phone. Blimey.
