I love the concept of using your imagination to change your life. It makes a lot of sense to me and appeals to the creative me. One of my favourite literature quotes is, 'I like them to talk nonsense. That is man's one privilege over all creation.' I love that there is no limit to what our minds can do. And to harness that power to alter one's life for the better is a truly inspiring idea.The book is full of examples and references to people who "used the power of their subconscious mind to overcome certain things or prevail in life or be healed of certain maladies. In some instances Dr. Murphy mentions people getting cured of diseases that doctors deemed to incurable just by thinking of getting healed! This is what we call "miracle recovery" which happens once in a blue moon.

There were also a LOT of examples/case studies, and for many of them I found myself becoming quite skeptical. Particularly when people who had never heard of the author were quoted as saying his phrases. There were also instances where a conclusion was left out and I couldn't help but question why. I'm sure there was a bit of literary license happening here but it bothered me that this wasn't disclosed.

I have always been interested in the topic of the subconscious mind. To me, it is where ideas are born, where people conscious personality and actions stem from. I like the idea of being able to program it to work more for my in my daily life was intriguing. As the author says, our subconscious is at work 24 hours a day for every day of our lives. Breathing and heartbeat and all our bodily functions we do not give a second thought about even when we are sleeping are controlled by our subconscious.
