About this deal

Next, have the question master take a card and read out the first half of the search. For example: “Why do I have so much…” Isle of Man, Isle of Wight, Northern Ireland and the Scottish Highlands) may take longer to reach you. Once the game begins, it’s also very good fun for a certain period of time. I’d suggest that it works well as one of maybe three or four different party games that are enjoyed for maybe an hour or so each. It’s fast and funny, generating lots of laughs and quite a lot of discussion/disbelief (since not a lot of the search answers make sense in the traditional way.) It does run out of steam though, because whilst there are certainly more search cards than you’ll ever get through, the formula does eventually get a little bit repetitive. Each team must now try and guess the most popular ending to the internet search. Teams get to write down two guesses: one main guess and one bonus guess.

Each team then gets a minute to try and guess what the most popular ending was. Once you think you’ve sussed the answer, write down two endings: one main guess and one bonus guess. Players are divided in to two teams with an independent player reading the card. The teams have60 seconds to come up with two answers and rank them as their main answer and a bonus answer. Players are trying to find the most popular phrase by completing the rest of the search. Points are awarded if they guess the most popular answer (four points), if there answer is on the card but not the most popular (two points) and if there bonus answer is anywhere on the card (one point). The build quality of the cards and other components is high without being over the top, although the search cards are a bit thin and susceptible to damage. That’s kind of understandable given how many of them there are, which is a key factor in keeping Weird Things a viable game to replay. There is nothing worse in a game like this than when someone already knows the answer to some of the searches simply because they’ve played the game too many times and seen it all before. So, if you want your parties to be as weird as the people who ask Google if they’re weird, get Weird Things People Search For today! There's no way to create a thorough roundup of party games without mentioning Cards Against Humanity. This card game will get just about everyone in your group laughing at how wild it is. Weird Things Humans Search For gives you an insight in to just strange and weird the things we search for are. Having played a lot of party games lately (thanks largely to Big Potato Games) I find myself looking more and more for accessibility. Encompassed in that I’m talking about speed of setup, ease of teaching and so on. Weird Things most definitely nails those things, especially if the group that will be playing the game are familiar with the Family Fortunes concept. Weird Things really couldn’t be any easier to get to the table and start playing, which is a huge plus point for me. Grab a new search card and start the next round! The team with the most points after five rounds wins!

First and foremost, Weird Things Humans Search For ( Weird Things ) is a party game that takes a very straightforward approach and delivers a relatively minimal structure, with the focus instead being to simply create a structure for people to play and experiment in. Of course, Weird Things does have rules and scoring criteria etc, but you might choose to change them, introduce house rules and so on, which I feel the game encourages somewhat (whether intentionally or not.) You can now bring the fun wherever you go with the Weird Things Humans Search For Mini Board Game and provide quality fun for up to 20 players! Just like the original, the cards provided will give you the first half of a popular internet search, leaving you to guess like humans to complete the rest. For players aged 14 and over, gather some friends or family members and participate in guessing some very weird searches in your chosen teams. Once everyone has finished with their guesses, the Search Master will read out the answers on their card from most popular to least. If their guess is at the top of the list, they score four points, anywhere else on the list scores just two. The bonus guess will also score you an extra point if found anywhere among the list of searches. Team with the most points after five rounds wins! The question master then reads out the full list on the card. The higher your answer was on the list, the more points you’ll score for your team. The internet is a strange place. You can pretty much find anything onlinefrom the mundane to the weird, from thewonderfulto thefunny. The internet is at our fingertips with 4G and smart phones meaning that more than ever people are using the internet day in and day out and we are becoming an increasingly“connected” world. As it turns outas weird asthe internet can be, the things that we search for can be even weirder. Weird Things Humans Search For gives you an insight in to just strange and weird the things we search for are.In the UK, as recently as twenty years ago, most households only had access to five TV channels — even then, one of those channels was brand spanking new. This led us poor British folk to watching a lot of crap. More often than not, this crap consisted of game shows hosted by grimacing automatons who ultimately all ended up having nervous breakdowns. Among the most popular of those shows was Family Fortunes, originally hosted by Les Dennis. Weird Things Humans Search For is a modern take on the Family Fortunes model, in which players attempt to guess what the most popular answers to stupid questions might be. If you guessed that the answers to those questions were generated from real entries into a popular search engine, then you’re already in with a chance of winning… Overview and turn structure Like most party games, the rules are simple. Grab your friends, choose a player to be the question master, then split up into teams. Now it’s time for you to grab your friends, split into teams and start second-guessing exactly how strange the human race can be. If you want to win, you’ll have to take on searches about all sorts of topics: from memes to dinosaurs, pet frogs to sumo wrestlers.

The only other comment I’d like to make about Weird Things is that I wish there had been some way of designing the game so that it didn’t need the host role. It can be fun as the host if you really get into it (and I do, since it’s my copy of the game) but it’s also slightly exclusive and it also effectively reduces the headcount by one. On the inverse of this point, I did take Weird Things to work and played it with two teams of more than five people each, which was a blast. In that setting, the idea of having an independent host acting as an independent and interactive referee proved to be really good fun. Your main answer is the one you want to be extra sure about. If it’s the first search on the list, you score four points. If it’s second you score three points, then two if it’s anywhere else. If your bonus answer appears on the list, you get one point – no matter where it is. When all the teams have decided on their final answers, the Search Master reads out the list of searches, starting with the most popular one. Then it’s time to count up the points. It’s hard to wax lyrical about the contents of Weird Things , since the box contains a relatively straightforward set of components. On the subject of the box, Weird Things features perhaps one of Big Potato Games’ most low-key boxes, despite being attractively marketed in illuminous orange with bold white lettering. There’s a snazzy, brief manual that achieves what it needs to in suitably few words, but aside from the proposed scoring criteria, there’s little in it that you couldn’t have simply guessed at having understood the concept. To play, all you need are two or three teams and a question master. The question master will read out the questions (duh!) and keep score so there is no cheating! Each team must grab pencil and paper, ready to scribble their answers down... You get the start of a question and then provide two answers (a main one and a bonus one). If you get the top one right with your main answer you get awarded four points. If its an answer somewhere else in the list, you get two points. Your bonus answer only gets one point regardless of where it is in the list. Here is an example of the questions: “should I let my husband…” (watch game of thrones!) or “can you get a tan from…” (a hair dryer!). Don’t you hate it when a sentence doesn’t end the way you octopus? Well, that’s a pretty common occurrence on Google (thanks for that one, humanity!). But, instead of despairing in the fact that we’re collectively a bunch of weirdos, you can celebrate how interesting we all are by trying to guess what people have asked Google. How? With Weird Things People Search For – the party card game!
