About this deal
Skullcandy has a specific name for each model they release, so it can be unclear how their headphones are categorized. Sometimes, there are feature-specific variants of that model available. For this brand, we consider these variants (and their base model) as constituting a lineup. This includes the following: In addition, the amount of shares Beats holds in the audio industry alone makes it a much more reputable company than Skullcandy.
Skullcandy devices are far more affordable, cost-efficient, and economical options when it comes down to price.Keep in mind that because of its cumbersome nature, it can cause some level of discomfort if you are into intense workout sessions. But these headphones are good options for the gym. FiiO’s latest entry into the mobile market and I have high hopes for this paring. In short, this is a great match up also. The software eq mode on the FiiO was the tipping point. Upping the treble to 4, the gain to 6 and the bass to 2 gave me exactly what I wanted – more sparkle in the top end, a little bass oomph and smooth mids with great vocals. Not quite as forward sounding as the powerful PB2 nevertheless the E17 amp did a great job with nice separation, better than average sound stage and a very high degree of musicality. On a price and performance, this is the match for me but the Pb2 just edges out for me if you happen to have that in your collection. Do keep in mind that all these perks come with the caveat of a significantly loftier price tag. Connectivity
Since most consumers are not the most poignant of audiophiles, the large swath of customers wants to own headphones they can use casually at a low price. So finally Skullcandy and I meet face to face – cans at dawn! One mild mannered audiophile facing the wrath of the extreme sports icon of low-fi headphones and right in the middle is this headphone called the Aviator. Do I turn my nose up, fire from both hi-fi guns and walk away or do I sit down and make peace with the Skullcandy bandido? Yes I make peace with the bandido and the Aviator headphone is all to blame for it!
Performance
the guitar riffs were great, the separate vocals could easily be differentiated from one another and didn't blur together, the percussion sounded great and even the intro to ariels sounded wonderful so bravo to these cans for making my favorite band continue to sound amazing.
