About this deal

P3 Paints did not really match very closely with the old GW range, but a detailed explanation of each paint can be found here: http://www.brushthralls.com/pre-painting-prep/color-theory-10p3.html

The result is a very stark model that stands out on the table top, especially against a lighter themed base & table.Nurgling Green– Air Paint: This is a dark green color that can be used to create a variety of different effects, such as highlighting and shading. It can be used to create a sense of contrast and depth in your miniature painting, and it is perfect for creating the effects of moss and lichen on the mournfang brown base coat. Whilst this might sound like something you’d expect to receive a lecture on whilst doing a Biology degree, our second way of using Dirty Down’s Rust Water Soluble Paint requires some different products to the first. Namely, Mournfang Brown or Typhus Corrosion. The first method we’ll look at is a very easy, straight-out-the-bottle way of using Dirty Down’s Rust Water Soluble Paint. This requires only a few products, so is a great one for beginners or those on a limited budget. Step 1 – Priming

Have a play with the mix, but you’ll likely want to add or remove the Dirty Down depending on how strong you want the rust effect to be. Step 4 – Applying We’re going to take this already pretty grimdark model to the furthest extremities of grimdarkness. This paint isn’t as heavily textured, so will give the impression that some areas are more worn than others. Step 3 – The BrowningYou’ll be left with a very realistic rust effect that takes full advantage of your model’s texture and explores a whole spectrum of worn-out, grimy colours. The @gobble_inz Method 2: The Mournfang-Typhus Method The core of this method is basically to lay down the basic fur patterns and colors first, then overlay a wash and drybrush to add the shadows and highlights, leaving the pattern in most places. This is very important this time around, as we’ll be using a thinner mixture of Dirty Down’s rust, so we’ll need that brown base coat. Step 3 – Shake it Off Up

Zamesi Desert– Air Paint: This light grey color is a great choice for creating highlights and adding depth to the Mournfang Brown base coat. It can be used to create a variety of different effects, such as weathering and highlighting, and it can be used to create a sense of contrast and depth in your miniature painting. You’ll be able to build up a very realistic rusty transition from the brighter areas touched by the water to those very dark edges. Citadel Colours’ Mournfang Brown is a rich, dark brown paint that is popular for miniature painting. Once your model is primed and ready to go, cover some of the areas with Citadel’s Typhus Corrosion. As with Method 1, this product still needs to be shaken until your arms hurt, so grab that pot and shake it until there are tears in your eyes and you’re begging to be allowed to stop. Then, shake it for another ten minutes. Step 3 – Corrosion

RYB

Eshin Grey– Air Paint: This is a dark grey color that can be used to create shadows and add depth to the Mournfang Brown base coat. It can be used to create a sense of depth and contrast, and it can also be used to create a variety of different effects, such as weathering and highlighting. Mournfang Brown – Air Paint is a base coat paint from Citadel Colour, specifically designed for miniature painting. Its pigments are of high quality, and it is an acrylic paint that dries to a matt finish. It is a versatile foundation color with excellent coverage, perfect for beginners looking to expand their palette of colours for miniatures. It can be used as a base coat for a variety of different miniature painting projects and it is a great addition to any miniature painter’s collection. What armies to paint with Mournfang Brown – Air Paint This is a mustard yellow paint that is more yellowish than Zandri Dust, but not as yellow as Averland Sunset. Compared to Balor Brown it’s more muted and less orange. From what I’ve seen it’s actually quite close to Tallarn Sand. I recommend a wash of Seraphim Sepia or Flesh Wash from The Army Painter’s Warpaints range, then highlights with Morghast Bone and Screaming Skull. Coverage is on average with about two to three slightly thin coats needed for a perfectly opaque result. http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/en_US/media/e588d28183cec31ffd6dcee6d3718fc3.cms/equivalencias-rev05.pdf Alternatively, you don’t have to stop here. You can keep going, and make the model really nasty. Step 9 (Optional) – Add More Dirty Down

Next, very carefully apply some Vallejo Rust Model Wash around the edges of some of these more yellowed areas. For reference, this is an Ariadna Antipode K-9 from infinity, specifically the one from the army box. Painting recipes for the various non werewolf sections are summarized below:If you’ve completed any of the three methods we’ve just explored, there’s one last thing to do – and that’s apply a good drybrush of a nice, dark metallic paint across the whole miniature. For this, we used Darkstar’s Steel. Now, you can do one of two things here. You can leave the model as it is. You’ll probably want to leave it a good 8-10 hours to ensure it dries completely. http://www.reapermini.com/forum/index.php?s=c770bc029dd218be5d17fff14fecefeb&showtopic=17678&st=0&p=266494&#entry266494 Mournfang Brown is a versatile color that works well on a range of miniature palettes, making it an indispensable tool in the inventory of every miniature painter. In the vast and varied Warhammer 40K universe, there are many factions and armies to choose from, each with their own unique aesthetics and themes. Here are three armies that could benefit from the use of Mournfang Brown in their miniature painting schemes:
