With a form factor very similar to the KZ ZST , the KZ ES4 offer the same outstanding level of comfortable and secure fit. Regarding size, the KZ ES4 are not as large as the KZ ZS10; instead, they have a footprint more inline with the KZ ES3, KZ ED12 and smaller than the KZ ZS6. Isolation-wise the KZ ZSN are decent, but alas distant from the 26 dB noise reduction touted by the manufacturer. Ambient noise gets reduced by a little bit, but I could not avoid raising the volume while on public transport. Sound & Specs Despite the fact that the ZSN isn’t really new, I consider it to be one of the best Kz earphones releases to yet. While they are billed mostly as IEMs or professional headphones, including me I bill them that way too, they are also great for average Joes. You can just buy them and enjoy your daily tasks with some good sound, listening to music, daily computing such us sending e mail, tasks, work and much more.

The KZ logo is engraved on the PCB on the rear; despite the plastic is transparent, it is colored, so the logo is not as visible as if it were etched directly onto the plastic; however, the “ES4” is plainly visible. While the mids on the Kz Zs 10 earphone provide neutral, smooth, and warm tones, the mid-range has an excellent texture.Seperation was good throughout my audition with only mild crowding on large orchestral pieces. (This again unlike some previous attempts that sounded as if the philharmonic had been crammed in Volkswagen bus and then asked to perform). Although the tuning is generally way better than that of previous earphones, it is not devoid of criticism. While there are no strange spikes and dips, there is a bump in the mid-bass area that introduces warmth to the signature. What’s great is that there is no aggressiveness whatsoever, anywhere in the spectrum. The KZ claims that the driving unit is constructed of high-quality copper, so they chose to brand it as well. If you wonder what makes ear tips so important, is that they play a role in passive noise isolation and overall comfort.

KZ ED16: the ED16 stand out because of their instrument separation and soundstage, which are way better than those of the ES4. Detail is also better in the treble and bass regions, while in terms of tuning, they have more emphasis on the usual region across midrange and treble. Midrange also pops out more, yet the general impression is not that of better balance. What really prevents the ED16 from being better is the relative unbalance.

Packaging & Accessories

The cables are the same one that comes with the KZ ED15 and KZ ZS10 with a dual double helix braided design and very rubberized finish. The connector of the cable is the same bi-pin 0.75mm of all KZ earphones with detachable cables; specifically they use the angled connector (like the KZ ZSR , KZ ZST and KZ ZS10) and not the straight connector that came with the KZ ZS6 , KZ ZS5 and KZ ZS3. Overall, they sound fantastic across all frequency ranges, with nothing obtrusive, and noise isolation is an added bonus.

When Knowledge Zenith, a.k.a. Kz, originally released the Kz Zs10, it caused mayhem in the audio industry. Despite the fact that the Kz earphones portfolio now comprises over 30 earphones, the Kz zs10 remains the most popular and is still considered the best Kz earphone to this day. An EQ adds a jaw dropping amount of brightness and become noticeably more detailed. Piercing highs can also be efficiently eq’ed to reduce their strength.Tries to get into upper bass register and bleed towards mid, but is now in control due to tenmak tips. It is to punchy and is distinct(I don't like that much punch) but is still maintaining a fundamental tone, so I can tolerate. But on slow, classical or orchestral songs this mid bass is very good. It defines the weight of instruments. The bass is quite tight and punchy, the kind of bass to be felt at the bottom, yet it is nothing offensive and there’s no need for the help of an artificial bass booster since it has it all.
