About this deal

The thermostat uses one wire to control the primary functions of your HVAC system, such as heating, cooling, and fan. See the diagram below for the role of each wire in your system: The motor will move the valve to the mid position AB, so both heating and hot water are selected. Internal switches and other components ensure the motor is held at this mid point. Power on White and Grey Referring to your photo, remove and label each wire. If a terminal has multiple designations like W and O/B, it will be labeled as W and O/B and not just one or the other. The same result is acheived if the hot water cylinder is fully heated - the cylinder thermostat provides the 'HW Off' signal by connecting C and 2 together. If you’re looking to upgrade your home heating system, the Honeywell Cylinder Stat is a reliable and efficient choice. This guide will provide you with all the information you need to properly wire your Honeywell Cylinder Stat, ensuring optimal performance and energy savings.

It can still be fitted today, however is not suitable for systems with more than one heating zone. 3 Port Valve Operation The Honeywell CS92A is known for its reliable and durable performance. It is constructed with high-quality materials, ensuring long-term reliability and resistance to wear and tear. The controller is also designed to be easy to use and install, making it suitable for both professional HVAC technicians and DIY enthusiasts. The components: The main components of a Honeywell cylinder stat wiring are the cylinder stat itself, the wiring center, and the boiler. The cylinder stat is usually located near the cylinder, and it monitors the temperature of the hot water. The wiring center is where all the wiring connections are made, and it acts as a central hub for the system. The boiler is responsible for heating the water.Regardless of other settings, at least one of the outlets is always open, so it is always possible for water to flow through the valve. These diagrams show a modern boiler where the boiler requires mains power all the time, with a separate wire used to activate the boiler and the pump connected directly to the boiler. Having the right tools can make the wiring process much easier. Make sure to have a variety of screwdrivers (both flathead and Phillips), wire strippers, and electrical tape on hand. These tools will allow you to properly connect the wires and secure them in place.

Identify any wires labeled R, RH, or RC. You typically have one or two of those three. If you have one wire — even if it’s labeled RC — it goes into the R terminal, setting the jumper connecting terminals R and RC in place. Thermostats may have a jumper switch, metal staple, or plug. The jumper may also be a wire connecting the two terminals. If you have two wires, R or RH go into the R terminal and RC into the RC terminal. If you have more than one wire (for example, you have a wire labeled R and another wire labeled Rc), remove any jumpers between the R and Rc terminals or push the switch to open the RC terminal to insert a wire. As programmer terminal 1 has power, so does wiring centre terminal 7 which is connected to the valve grey wire. The white wire already has power via the room thermostat, and as power is applied to both grey and white, the valve moves to position A.

Here To Help

If you see wires connected to terminals labeled G1 G2 G3, you need a thermostat capable of controlling multiple fan speeds; none of our retail thermostats are compatible with this system type. G is compatible, but not G1, G2, or G3. In this guide, we will walk you through the wiring process step by step, providing clear instructions and helpful tips along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned DIY enthusiast or a complete beginner, this guide will give you the confidence and knowledge to successfully wire your Honeywell Cylinder Stat and enjoy the benefits of a reliable and efficient home heating system. Understanding Honeywell Cylinder Stat Wiring Here, power is also applied to programmer terminal 4, which connects via wiring centre terminal 4 to the room thermostat. If heat is required, power continues to terminal 5 in the wiring centre, and therefore to the white valve wire.

This diagram shows the wiring layout using the most typical components. Here, coloured wires indicate the permanent mains supply to the boiler and programmer. The three additional coloured valve wires are also shown (white, grey and orange). This scheme uses a 3 port mid position valve. In the past this was by far the most common setup, as it only requires one valve. Here the motor will move to position A (heating only). When it gets there, an internal switch connects white and orange together, and this output is used to activate the boiler. There is no standard for which color wire controls each function. When wiring, each wire should be identified by what terminal(s) it connects to — never by color. If you don’t know to which terminal each wire connects, it may be necessary to go to the HVAC system and look at the designations on the control board. Consult your owners/install guide for wiring examples and systems compatible with your thermostat*. On most valves, the actuator head containing the switches and motor can be replaced as a separate unit without draining the system. On some, the internal motor can be replaced, although it is often easier to change the whole head. Comfort meets convenience with Honeywell Home thermostats. We know how important it is to keep our homes nice and warm, especially during the colder months, and that’s why here at Plumbworld, we offer a range of Honeywell Home Thermostats, offering a collection of analogue and digital programmable thermostats which will easily have your home temperature under control. Boasting advanced technology and modern features, the Honeywell thermostat does the clever stuff for you by managing the hot water flow from your boiler to your radiators or underfloor heating system. Your new thermostat may not be directly compatible if you see terminals labeled A B C, or 1 2 3, as your system requires a communicating thermostat.
