In special 2-3 player versions of the game each player controls multiple characters during the action phase. Rules vary as to which cards are placed out of play.

Currently, the base English language edition of Citadels is called "Citadels Deluxe" and is sold with past expansion sets already included. These include extra character and district cards and the new markers associated with these new cards. It does not include game pieces and mechanics that are specific to the Circus Edition. A player receives a number of points equal to the total combined gold cost of all the district cards in his city at the end of the game.It was first released in 2000, and its success led to an expansion a few years later. Today, the game has been printed in several languages.

Seriously, Citadels is almost a benchmark for providing solid representation in a board game. They’ve even managed to get a female Bishop in the game, a feat that took the Church of England over 400 years. In the round each player gains gold or can construct a district. Each district has costs in gold which must be paid. Districts themselves come in five different colours and there are bonus points for building all colours of the districts. The winner of the game is the player with the most points. In the case of a tie, compare the total points received only from step 1 of the above scoring process. If there is still a tie, the player with the most gold wins.Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend.
