About this deal

Clark and his friends realize that it's okay to have fears, and they get through their fears through creating a rhyme together. A serious book addict, Bruce wanted to be a children's book author since he was in 4th grade (right after he got over wanting to be a pirate, Tarzan, and Daniel Boone).

The text structure followed Clark through his day at school and the following days after he made his rules. An eco-minded Redbridge school student who published a book about a friendly litter clearing shark is hoping his story will inspire people to start the New Year by joining green initiatives in the borough. This book is a wonderful way to spark children's curiosity and love for nature while also promoting important values like kindness, empathy, and environmental stewardship.

While he is busy cleaning up, he meets Wonda – the cutest baby killer whale imaginable, who is lost and alone. The teacher shows Clark a better way to enjoy what he likes while also keeping his excitement under control. Featuring bright, colorful artwork from Guy Francis and hilarious read-aloud text from Bruce Hale, this Clark the Shark picture book is the perfect story for kids braving nighttime jitters! The nice part about this book is it doesn't take the stance you have to always suppress your excitement. We have 5 copies of Lark the Shark and Wonda the Whale to be won in our competition, which ends on World Oceans Day– June 8th 2023.

This is a sweet story and perfect for opening up a discussion about fears and first overnights for kids 4 and up. They have good intentions, but it can often be hard for some children to stay on task and do what is expected of them. After a while, Clark's friends don't want to sit near him, eat lunch with him, or even play with him. Clark the Shark is trying to get ready for his first sleepover, but he’s worried because it will be his first time sleeping outside without his glow-fish night-light.

Natalie and Henry are passionate about teaching children the importance of being kind to our planet, and bring to light the topic of pollution in our seas through their lovely books. Sometime during the night I would wake up and be scared and even run and jump into bed with my mom and dad. Clark whispers his rhyme to himself, and one of his friends over hears him and asks what he just said. Unfortunately, although he always meant well, his hyperactivity and thoughtlessness often resulted in the other pupils avoiding him at lunchtime and recess. He learned to behave when he was at school because there is a time and a place for when to act crazy and there is a time not to.But being able to keep your cool during certain times is a valuable skill and one everyone around you appreciate. The only problem is, Clark enjoys himself so much, he has forgotten to stop and consider his friends feelings and how they are affected by his lack of self-control.
