About this deal

Told in first person, the first chapter opens with an unnamed woman in prison. She admits to what put her there, and it's a horrible, horrible crime. But its hard to feel the weight of her crime so early on, not knowing who she is, how or why it happened. But not to worry, because she has decided to share her story, which starts early on, when she is just a baby herself... In the end we know her name and what she did and what in truth happened to her . To say that its heartbreaking and disturbing , such a sad, sad story somehow doesn't seem adequate but it is definitively a beautifully written one that I won't forget about .

everything that is wrong with me is wrong with you too. We are one and the same. When I die, your flame will also extinguish.” It would be nice if the police were involved. Not only would it spice things up for me, I think it would also up the stakes and help with the far fetchedness so that the mystery could unwrap a little less conveniently. My heart squeezes for this child woman and the pain and suffering she endured. No one condones violence against a child but here we get a glimpse into a tortured mind and see why she may have done what she did.Told from inside her prison cell, What Lies Between Us is a dark, gripping testament to the ways in which childhood trauma can continue to haunt us long into adulthood (The 27 Most Exciting Books Coming In 2016) because misery doesn’t always love company. It’s not fair of me to expect anyone else to share the space under my dark cloud.” And sweet Nina, at the end of her thirties, librarian is guardian and judge of her own mother’s slow punishment and execution. After working as a journalist for 25-years interviewing celebrities from the world of television, film and music for national newspapers and magazines, he is now a full-time writer.

You will be equipped with a historical, political, and social context for understanding race/ism and how it is sustained. The content will allow you to build a sound knowledge base and develop a perspective beyond popular discourse and uninformed opinions. With a practical understanding of contributing ideologies -- like white supremacy, meritocracy, colorblindness -- and interpersonal and systemic dynamics — like unconscious bias, and power and privilege — you will have a broadened awareness of yourselves, “others,” and our interconnected society. I don’t believe anyone who claims to have no regrets. They’re lying to themselves. We all have them.” Starred Review. Writing with the same tantalizing prose that captured readers in her debut novel (Island of a Thousand Mirrors, 2014), Munaweera explores the relationship of mothers and daughters, tradition, honor, and sacrifice, with beautiful and devastating results. But there are many things about the past that Nina doesn’t know, and Maggie is going to keep it that way—even if it kills her.

Beyond the Book

by the twisted journey this book takes you on. I know John Marrs previous books have led us through Twistville and this one is no different. However, this one differs in that the story changes how you feel about the lead characters to such a point you just don't know what they are capable of next. The deceptive story climbs and climbs until you think you've reached the peak, only to find another, final twist (have I said twist enough?). not the worst john marrs book ive read, but definitely not my favourite. i think i tend to prefer his sci-fi thrillers more than his psychological ones.
