It's nothing crazy, maybe 3 or 4 pounds by how it feels, but there is a weight to it much different from a plush of equal size. I was skeptical about the benefits of a weighted plush, but I decided to give it a try and I'm so glad I did!

The weight is there, but it's not as heavy as some of my other weighted plushy, so this one would totally be suitable for even little little kids with no risk of them getting squished or smothered. There is a weighted part in the dinosaur belly, it is the right amount of weight, not to heavy or light. The only question or concern was a loose string on the side near the back right leg, when pulled on it moves the leg, but I believe it was meant to be lost within the plush to give that seamless sew look to it.Its like a small pouch of beads inside the body and it does move around a bit which isnt much of an issue since its super easy to push it to its stomach or wherever you prefer.
