About this deal

Author Guy Bass introduces SCRAP, about one robot who tried to protect the humans on his planet against an army of robots. Now the humans need his... And then, Cole was ALWAYS the one that was there - he found Frank, he found Kat, he had ample opportunity to get to Taylor and he was there that night with Jameela. What the hell. This book was INSANE. That plottwist was something I definitely thought of a few times but then I thought to myself “the author wouldn’t do that would they?” and boy was I WRONG. Morton Academy is a school for specially selected, high-achieving students. Being chosen as Head Girl is an incredible honour, and everyone wants to be the successful candidate. But when Head Girls start dying in unusual and violent ways, it becomes obvious that there is a serial killer loose in the school. Liv and her friends Kat, Taylor, Marcus and Cole are determined to discover what is going on, and begin to investigate. It soon becomes apparent that no one is safe from the killer, and that becoming Head Girl may not be such a prize after all. Add in a secret society, Jewel and Bone, and an enthralling story begins. Win Lose Kill Die is the second book out by this author. It takes place as a private school where the best and the brightest are groomed for greatness. One of the best positions in the school is Head Girl. That position opens all of the doors to the top. The problem is that someone keeps killing anyone who assumes that position.

TikTok sensation Cynthia Murphy's debut The Last One to Die has been hailed "Point Horror for a new generation", winning the Redhill Trust Book Award and Lancashire Book of the Year 2022. I loved reading about this school though, just like in Truly Devious this is a special school for special kids. They all have something they are amazing at and can hone and sharpen those skills. We have a few math wizards, some people who are great at art. It was really fun! Plus, that food served at the canteen (and then especially the weekends) sounded awesome. No no. No no. Instead - INSTEAD - it turns out that we’ve got an unreliable narrator on our hands and she’s just been LYING to us this whole time 😱 Like girlie straight up has been like “they’re dead 😮” when she MURDERED them??? Like okay then 🤷‍♀️ There are so many suspects - the enigmatic Headmistress, Dr Patel, and the odd groundskeeper, Creepy Billy, with his love of unusual, sometimes poisonous plants, and handsome new boy, Cole, who becomes Liz's boyfriend, that the reader is constantly kept guessing. The story concludes with a very clever twist, which I doubt few readers will see coming. All in all, a highly recommended thriller which will be a huge hit with teenage readers. The explosive YA thriller, with over 5 million TikTok views and counting... From the author of Last One To Die. Hello Yellow - 80 Books to Help Children Nurture Good Mental Health and Support With Anxiety and Wellbeing - For a brief moment, I though it could be Kat (once again, the Tiger balm, amongst other things, like the bathroom message).

The winners of The Farshore Reading for Pleasure Teacher Awards 2023, highlighting the work schools are doing to encourage a love of reading, have... The chapters we are reading, the normal ones, don’t seem to indicate that she isn’t scared, that she knows who did it. Like her tone does seem frightened and scared and wanting to find out who did it. She offers to search around and look for things, just for her to what? get caught? it doesn’t make much sense. The whole bathroom scene, why would she lie to us the readers about the steam in the mirror. Maybe it’s be different if she just said it, but she was lying in her first person perspective— it just didn’t make sense. And her whole personality just changed at the end, we didn’t see any of this side of her at all— there was no foreshadowing no anything. What is better than Boarding School tropes? When there is also mystery and murder! And some more! Teehee! Please be aware that the delivery time frame may vary according to the area of delivery - the approximate delivery time is usually between 1-2 business days. I liked that this was set in a UK boarding school, although admittedly I had to constantly remind myself of this, as the story did feel very American. Liz's friends were easy to remember though, and I found myself really liking her love interest, Cole, especially as the romance was not heavy handed. There were also questions posed that were never answered— like how did Marcus know about Frank’s death. The main character does she much investigating and questioning in her own head that doesn’t make sense if she was the killer. Night Mayor Franklefink has vanished from the Transylvanian Express - and it's up to you to solve the case! Part of the Solve Your Own Mystery seri... The reason my rating is probably like 3.6 is because I didn't get hooked as much as other books, fr me it just seemed like people kept dying and dying and I know that's intentional to keep the book fast paced but it just didn't hook me as much. Just my personal feeling, feel free to disagree with me!

And seriously, if you get wounded by a rusty nail or something…. at least go to the doctors. I get that you are hard at work and you need to do all sorts of things, but this is important. It just didn’t make sense and I was just rolling my eyes. Cynthia is a YA writer from the North-West of England. She has always enjoyed writing and when her English teacher accused her of plagiarism in Year 8, she thought she might actually be quite good at it. This was a nice book. I'm pretty sure if I read it when I was 12 or around that age I would have loved this book to bits. However some parts of the book was a bit too iffy for me.Then I thought it might be Marcus cause like… he seemed a bit shady, too good to be true (turns out he was just awesome). And he has the tiger balm, he was initially trying to get them to drop the investigation, ya know, stereotypical suspicious behaviour. Also, Cole. It was really clear that the author tried to make him seem guilty af by placing him in different scenarios and making him conveniently the first person at the crime scenes. Of course the reader should be mislead into suspecting the wrong people but I don't want it to be forced.

In this book we meet Liz, a girl who is sweet and kind, and goes to a fancy school named Morton. She and other smart kids get the best education there. But there is something sinister going on. Something bloody. We see that no one is safe. I loved that our group of friends tried to figure out what was going on. Trying not to get killed. There is a secret society. There are secrets everywhere. Also can someone explain to me how they figured out Liz was it all along, because it totally hit me by surprise and I did not see any clues that it was her doing before the big reveal, maybe I was just oblivious, or not Idk but I'm curious what gave it awayDr. Patel and what was going on with her? I was never a fan of the woman, especially after some murders and how she acted towards it. I am happy we find out more about the whys and the hows, and while I didn’t feel much sympathy still, I could understand her motivations just a bit more. SPOILER) Het enige positieve is is dat er een goeie twist zit aan t einde en dat is dat de hoofdkarakter uiteindelijk de moordenaar bleek te zijn wat je dus zelf als lezer ook niet wist. Author Luke Palmer introduces his new book, Play (Firefly Press) about four boys growing up together, the challenges, the friendships, and what hap... The dangerous city of Ketterdam is governed by the Merchant Council, but in reality, large sectors of the city are given over to gangs who run the gambling dens and brothels. The underworld's rising star is 17-year-old Kaz Brekker, known as Dirtyhands for his brutal amorality. Kaz walks with chronic pain from an old injury, but that doesn't stop him from utterly destroying any rivals. When a councilman offers him an unimaginable reward to rescue a kidnapped foreign chemist—30 million kruge!—Kaz knows just the team he needs to assemble. There's Inej, an itinerant acrobat captured by slavers and sold to a brothel, now a spy for Kaz; the Grisha Nina, with the magical ability to calm and heal; Matthias the zealot, hunter of Grishas and caught in a hopeless spiral of love and vengeance with Nina; Wylan, the privileged boy with an engineer's skills; and Jesper, a sharpshooter who keeps flirting with Wylan. Bardugo broadens the universe she created in the Grisha Trilogy, sending her protagonists around countries that resemble post-Renaissance northern Europe, where technology develops in concert with the magic that's both coveted and despised. It’s a highly successful venture, leaving enough open questions to cause readers to eagerly await Volume 2.
