About this deal

Write the fragrance or a message on a luggage tag. Tie twine around the jars and attach the tags. You candles are now ready to give away as presents, or enjoy at home. Candles are perfect for new home gifts, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day and Christmas crafts, or simply to let a friend know that you’re thinking about them. Now, for your orange candle, simply repeat steps 2-5, but instead of 3 drops of pink liquid dye in Step 4, use 3 drops of orange liquid dye to create your second candle. Step 7 – Remove the bubble candles from the mould If you’ve been wondering how to make pillar candles successfully, our bubble candle tutorial is the place to start! This tried-and-tested recipe allows you to create a well-burning bubble shaped pillar candle without having to work through your own extensive testing.

Leave the candles to solidify for 24 hours, or at least over night. Then it’s time to add the finishing decorative touches. Top tip: Don’t leave your thermometer in the melting pot whilst the wax is melting as it will get hot from the water steam. Keep adding the thermometer to the wax at melting intervals as you go. Step 4 – Add colour and fragrance oil The burn time of these bubble candles is around 8 hours each (based on our tests of burning the candles in 2 hourly intervals, allowing them to fully set and harden again in between). Place one of the melting pots on your scales and turn on. Weigh out 138g of wax. Step 3 – Melt the wax

Half fill your pan with cold water and place on your cooker/stove top. Sit the melting pot on top of the pan. Turn the hob/ring on and set to a medium - low heat. This is called the double-boiling method. (The water in your pan should be no more than halfway up your melting pot’s bowl) Fill your jar to the top with wax flakes, then tip the flakes into the metal jug or pan. Fill the jar with wax flakes again, this time only half way, and tip these into the metal jug – this is the amount of wax you need, one and half times the size of your jar. Step 2

Remember to make use of our Candle Burn Test Sheet also if experimenting with other fragrances. It can be used for both container and pillar candles, you just won’t need to fill in everything on the sheet if using to test pillar candles. Lighting a scented candle is such a soothing way to unwind, but buying them can be pricey. That's why a craft project to make your own scented candles with essential oils is such a good idea. Plus, DIY candle-making is a fun (and stress-busting) way to spend an afternoon. Generally speaking, you can expect a bubble candle with a standard tealight size (1.6 x 1 inch) made from beeswax to burn for up to 4 hours continuously; whereas one made from soy wax may last up to 8 hours continuously before needing replenishment. Want to know how to make candles? Candle making at home for beginners is easier than you might think! Bubble candles are a type of unscented or scented candle that gives off ambient light and creates a soothing atmosphere. Bubble candles are perfect for adding a tranquil ambiance to any room, providing additional lighting with very little effort.

Lavender has a calming effect that helps relieve both physical and mental stress, as well as improve sleep quality which is essential for managing overall feelings of well-being. As these are pillar candles, it’s important to remember that unlike container candles, the recommended 3-4 hour burn time isn’t necessary. While many use pillar candles decoratively, if you do wish to burn them, we’d recommend burning them for no more than 1-2 hours at a time due to their size and shape. If burning for more than 2 hours at a time, you'll run the risk of the wax leaking through the sides of the candle. Learning how to make candles is a lifelong skill and craft that you’ll keep returning to, whether it’s to get your home feeling cosy and ready for autumn, or to make a thoughtful gift all year round.
