Kindness in the Classroom lessons teach kindness skills through a step-by step framework of Share, Inspire, Empower, Act, and Reflect. A kindness merry-go-round is a brilliant Random Acts of Kindness Day idea to get all children involved. To create a kindness merry-go-round, each child writes down something nice for the person next to them. They write down the name of the person their note is for and one kind thing about them, such as ‘you’re really good at maths’, ‘you’re fun to play with’, ‘you’re a lovely friend’ or ‘you’re always smiley’. Using Kindness in the Classroom as the foundation for that class, our staff was empowered to facilitate learning in a creative way that allowed them to truly connect with their students.
