T Levels are new courses that follow GCSEs and are equivalent to 3 A Levels. They’ve been co-created by the industry you want to be a part of, so you can gain the knowledge and skills you need to leap ahead of the crowd and into your desired career. They are assessed by a mixture of exams and practical activities, so better for those students who struggle with end of course assessment. You can find more information on T Levels here. T Level Laboratory Sciences Will enable you to perform the following techniques, plan experiments with them, analyse data generated and evaluate the results:Created in partnership with NCFE and written by highly respected authors Judith Adams, Stephen Hoare and Mary Riley, feel confident knowing you can rely on the insights and experience these experts. Start the journey towards a career in science.Covering all the Core content students need to know with clear definitions alongside practice questions, this T level textbook gives students the skills and confidence to succeed in their written assessment and industry placement. These Level 3 technical qualifications provide learners with the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to progress into skilled employment or higher-level technical training or study in the health and science sector. The core knowledge and understanding are assessed through an examination and core skills through a practical employer-set project. In addition to this, maths, English, and general digital skills will be integrated within the qualification in occupationally relevant contexts.

AOs have different processes in place to monitor delivery of T Level Technical Qualifications. The purpose of all monitoring activities is the same, however they may be carried out in slightly different ways. Employer Set Project is an externally-set (in conjunction with employers) project: Duration: 18hours Develop your understanding of the key principles, concepts and theories, as well as the skills and confidence to succeed in your written assessment and industry placement. Created in partnership with CACHE and written by highly respected authors Judith Adams, Stephen Hoare and Mary Riley, you can feel confident relying on the insights and experience of these experts. You will then specialise in Laboratory Sciences understanding how to design and perform experiments, keep good records and problem solve when things go wrong.You will understand how laboratory equipment should be maintained and calibrated to generate valid results and be able to recognise errors and identify faults. University College Birmingham is one of the first colleges in the UK to offer the new T-level qualification, which combines learning in the classroom with gaining vital ‘on-the-job’ experience. On our two-year health course, you will learn about working within the health and science sector, good scientific and clinical practice, infection prevention and control in health-specific settings, alongside developing key practical and technical skills for the sector. In the second year, you can begin to specialise by choosing either an adult nursing or mental health nursing pathway. There are 3 components to the T Level course: The Core Content, Occupational Specialism; and Industry placement.

Finally, you will be able to put everything you learn into practice, with a substantial industry placement of around 45 days. Giving you an amazing opportunity to work with an employer while you study, such as a chemical, pharmaceutical or biotechnology company, and gain invaluable experience as well as key skills that employers are looking for. Content NCFE spearheaded the development of the technical qualifications that sit at the centre of the following 3 health and science T Levels: T Levels are two-year, technical study programmes, designed with employers to give you the skills industry needs. contextualised around an occupational area and chosen by the student ahead of the assessment window.

T Levels/ESP Guidance

The student is also required to successfully achieve a distinction/merit/pass grade in one of the occupational specialism components. If the student fails to reach the specified level of attainment, they will receive a U grade.

If you already have full Provider approval, you will need to use the TL-A2 extension form to apply for additional T Level qualifications. Approach assessment with confidence using the knowledge-based questions and scenario-based activities for practice, alongside model answers for the extended response questions If you applied to deliver T Level Qualifications from September 2021 and have deferred delivery continuously since this time, you would be required to complete the full Provider approval process again by using the TL-A1 form. Biomedical Science Apprentice with Pathway to Oxford Brookes Biomedical Science Degree (Oxford University Hospitals only) This qualification is suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the health sector.

The combined results from these sub-components will be aggregated to form the overall core component grade (A* to E and U).
