About this deal

Get the ultimate competitive advantage with JBL Quantum gaming headsets. Fueled by years of research, we combine precisely engineered headsets with custom, cutting-edge software to put you in the center of the action. Experience hyper-accurate, immersive sound that reveals every detail of the world around you—so you can rise to the top. I've had this headset for around 2 years and it still works just as well today as it did on day one. The RGB is stupid and I've turned it off since day one and haven't used it since. The mic works fantastic. So spend some time dialing in the EQ to your liking, and see how real-world hearing helps you pinpoint enemies and bring the game to life. I gave the JBL Quantum 800 headset a good run and I was really surprised at how far in the house I could go before the signal began to get lost. They are certainly the most powerful wireless headphones that I have used so far in terms of signal strength. Simultaneous input/output on 2 devices (work laptop on Bluetooth + personal laptop with USB wireless dongle or Phone on Bluetooth + PS4 with the wireless dongle)

Typically, you need to spend a hefty chunk of money to get headphones with good ANC, and the feature is rarely found on gaming headsets at all. The Quantum 800’s ANC is surprisingly strong, cutting out a decent amount of surrounding noise without producing a low-level hiss or significantly changing the sound of what you’re listening to (problems often found in cheap ANC). However, as I mentioned above, the real complicating factor in how the JBL Quantum 800 sounds are the surround sound options. Both the QuantumSURROUND and DTS:X 2.0 settings noticeably alter the audio profile of the headset, and not always in flattering ways. Turning on either setting means two things to varying degrees: mids get less emphasis, and everything else gets boosted, in slightly odd ways. With the DTS setting, it’s a little less noticeable—everything seems louder, for sure, but otherwise sounds normal. Unfortunately no thanks to support haven't really been able to speak to anybody for some reason I was speaking to India's support, and they give me the runaround so I just ended up taking care of it myself. Did not include the USB dongle I am not able to connect it to my device as it is missing the USB dongle...???Since 1982, PCMag has tested and rated thousands of products to help you make better buying decisions. See how we test. UPDATE: having the ANC turned on does inconsistently deplete much more of the battery. I lost about 30% in 2 hours. Without ANC and with Bluetooth and 2.4ghz dongle and lights i was losing about 10% an hour. Without ANC or lights i was losing about 10% every 1-3 hours. I lowered the acore from a 6 to a generous 5.

Significantly better, how is the function in its current state??.. Well let's just say the wired counterpart works out of the box whereas the wireless model needs the firmware updated and that could take some time. (In its current state) Full charge is between an hour and 2. Very fast. As i am sure you have read the headset will immediately cut power when plugged in and i hate that. But also if there is no sound from USB 2.4ghz or Bluetooth playing for about 20 minutes the headset powers down. And once the battery is at about 25% it will play a warning aound. Then again at aboit 15% and 5%. For my comparison the TB700 does a stagnant voice prompt that is annoying and the arctis does a tone every few minutes which is just as annoying. I do not find the JBL 800 warning annoying. It highlights how the battery isn't THAT bad since the warnings are about an hour or more apart. Plenty of time to give it a 15 minite charge for a solid 20% boost. It’s a different experience than you get with other headphones, and may take a little while to adjust to. For example, sounds coming from sources in the distance will seem farther away, as they would in real life. Even though you might be used to those sounds feeling closer with other headphones, JBL QuantumSURROUND provides hyper-accurate spatialization that can give you a competitive edge.Make sure that your the Quantum Headphones is your Default Device for both Speakers ( Game ) and Earphone ( Communication device ) i feel more comfortable tossing these around (like into a bag, onto a bed, falling off a table or small daily accidents) I wish the pads weren't leather and/or at least had a fabric ear cup like my comparison headsets. Sound isolation is not bad nor is sound leak, not the greatest but average muffles sound to where there's plenty i don't make out sounds well but still hear them to know there is a sound. But when in use i don't even use the Active Noise Canceling because the isolation and volume is enough. They have good weight distribution for my head. I prefer some clamping force to relieve me from feelinge the head band too much. The 800 has a nice balance between the 3 sides. I wear glasses half the time and I've worn worse. I honestly can't complain about glasses with these. I've worn these for more than 10 hours multiple times. I am ultimately keeping the JBL over the other 2 because unlike the TB700 i don't think it will break on its own after a few months and it doesn't have distortion. And unlike the arctis it has simultaneous Bluetooth and 2.4ghz which is my must have feature. If you don't need that feature i absolutely recommend the Steelseries arctis for gaming. But if you are like me and need Bluetooth and USB wireless simultaneously i would recommend the JBL 800. The battery isn't that big an issue, i just think when you compare it to something like the arctis 7+ that can last 30+ hours, makes it seem worse than it actually is. In reality the 10-20 hour battery life (depending if you use lights) is kind of average for audio devices. I think most people will be find getting home from work or school and playing for 2-6 hours with these. I am a typical 10+ hour power player and they have been fine. With up to 14 hours of battery life (having ANC on will drain this), you get a lot of gaming time between charges. Sadly there is not any wireless charging built into the Quantum 800’s. Therefore you must charge using the included USB C cable. Final Thoughts I have had constant issues with the headset dropping Bluetooth and wireless connection when I'm sitting or standing less than 10ft away.
