It’s no secret that a lot of lawn mowers are bulky and difficult to handle but this one is something of a dream especially when you take into consideration the lightweight design which makes moving it around nothing short of a delight. But is this a good option for your average gardener? Well, yes, in short, it is. Not only does it give you a great grass capacity which means that you’re not emptying the box every few minutes, but it also has many other features that make this practically perfect.

The mower arrives with the mulching plug attached. To use the bag, remove the mulching plug first for the mower to bag properly. On the whole, you’re getting a pretty decent mower with the WORX WG743E.1 and it’s difficult to see that there are many cons to report. However, if you are looking for a downside, this could be that there is no roller for creating a stripy lawn – if that takes your fancy. The noise level is relatively low compared to other mowers on the market. The motor produces a gentle hum, which is much less jarring than the sound of a petrol mower. This makes it a more pleasant experience for the user and any nagging neighbours within earshot. No specific noise-reducing features are built into the mower, but the cordless technology replaces any typically whirring engine. Durability The Worx WG779E.2 is a well-built, sturdy mower designed to last. My only gripe would be that the cutting blade may need replacing after a certain amount of use, but this is a standard maintenance requirement for most mowers, and it’s easy enough to do yourself or take it to a professional. Additionally, you may need to replace the batteries more often if you’re using the mower frequently or in particularly tough conditions (such as on hilly terrain or in wet weather). You wouldn’t expect a modern lawn mower to be without a mulching mode and the WORX WG734E.1 doesn’t disappoint. It features a handy mulching mode that can be easily activated leaving you with perfect mulch for your garden every time.

For instance, if you buy this mower and then decide you need a hedge trimmer, you can buy a compatible WORX tool without the battery to save some cash. If you buy this tool with a battery, you can use it to further increase the runtime on your mower. Cutting Width Metal blades are generally sharper and provide a cleaner cut to the grass blade, resulting in a neater, tidier and superior finish to your lawn and garden. The metal blade on the WG779E.2 can be sharpened when needed unlike plastic blades.Mark one more thought…has it ever occurred to you that a mower with the lowest two settings of 20 and 30mm such as this one effectively rules out the use of the lowest 20mm one if you adhere to the rule of never lowering the grass height by more than 1/3?!

But where power is concerned, there’s nothing quite as impressive as the super-fast dual charger that’s included in the box. With a maximum charge time of just one hour, no time is wasted. Furthermore, the addition of the carry handle means that moving the mower from one end of the garden to the other is effortless. I had to look hard to find faults with this lawn mower, so I would definitely recommend buying the Worx WG779E and this is why I have given it five stars. The battery life is great and it has more than enough power for the job. When you consider its size and price point, that is no mean feat. As we have mentioned, the WORX WG743E.1 features a hefty cutting width of 40cm which makes it ideal for larger lawned areas, but will make just as easy work of a smaller lawn.On the contrary, as someone who has reviewed a few cordless mowers, the WG779E.2 outperforms its competitors in this department. The mower comes with two 2.0A or 4.0A batteries, and both are interchangeable with other Worx products, which is a nice bonus if you’re already invested in their power tool range. The WG779E.2 is equipped with one 34cm wheeled metal mower blade that gives them two very effective benefits… The consensus among other reviewers is that this is a great mower for the price, comparing well with much more expensive cordless models and not significantly more than corded or petrol mowers either. Gardeners World also granted it a Best Buy badge.

Once the height has been reduced to 30mm it is already at the maximum permitted height for a further reduction down to 20mm. So you either cut it again immediately – which also breaks the rule as it is like going from the height it was at before the reduction to 30mm all the way down to 20mm but in just one cut – or you wait until it has grown higher than 30mm when it is too long to reduce it to 20mm anyway! Not only are you getting a precision cut with this mower but you’ll also notice that it features six cutting height positions so you’re free to get your lawn looking exactly how you want it – if the WORX WG743E.1 is anything, it’s versatile.In turbo mode, you can easily take grass from about half a foot to an inch — though if you know how to mow a lawn you will realize it is a big lawncare mistake to cut so much in one go.
