Some of the options like putting the unit into audio interface mode are not saved, so you have to put the unit into that mode every time you power it up. I’m still scratching my head as to how they managed to pull this off, as the amount of processing on offer (not to mention the ability to run 6 phantom powered mics simultaneously), would normally render the need for a wall mounted power supply, completely inescapable. I installed ASIO plug in, and checked the folder and I can see it as a plug in in the plugin folder (win-asio), but it does not appear as a source in OBS.

The pros know that when you record everyone on their own separate track it just sounds better and provides more flexibility in the edit. Each encoder is circled by 13 LEDs, but as each LED has five levels of brightness and they light in combinations you’re treated to a finer level of indication than first sight suggests. It works as a class compliant audio interface (Maschine+ recognizes it) (if you are interested in this please read the terrible part!The six Sound Pads are essentially sample triggers, three playing back on channel 7 and three on channel 8. A further three headphone outputs can be set to have a duplicate of the master mix, or a unique mix – determined by the fader position on the associated output channel. This console also has two internal effects processors along with a 40-600Hz, 12dB/octave low-cut added to the 4-band EQ. I needed a mixer for small streaming/video gigs, including outdoor events with no AC power, plus a backup for my main PA mixer and a replacement for my Zoom L6 for small recording tasks.
You can also specify the recording format, and engage auto (threshold‑triggered) record and/or 2‑second pre‑record modes.

Input channels 7 and 8 are shared with output 1/2 and 3/4 correspondingly, when used in audio interface mode. I bought this as an alternative to the Rode Caster Pro, as a cheaper alternative, although the Rode has a nicer look and feel with big buttons, a huge advantage to the Zoom LiveTrack is it doesn't need its own separate psu when connected to the computer. Perhaps one of the more impressive aspects of the LiveTrak L-8 (and one that definitely impressed this reviewer) is when you realise that all of the aforementioned features are powered by the USB Bus alone, something that would have previously been inconceivable a few years ago.There are more menu functions than I’ve described here, all of which are fully detailed in the manual, but you get the idea: if your needs are conventional, Zoom have you covered; if they’re more esoteric I’d suggest that you consult the manual to ensure they’re fully catered for. Compatible iPads models include iPad Air, iPad Mini 2 and later, iPad Pro, and iPad 2017 running iOS 10. You can also navigate the project timeline by turning the Select Wheel (a rotary encoder with integral push button) and press it offline or during playback/record to insert up to 99 markers per project; the Fwd and Rwd buttons take you to the next marker in either direction.
