I do really like the Brightest Night, so that may have affected my review, but I thought this book was awesome! It has all of the fights and drama of game of Thrones but with clean language and good morals and messages. Now they've kidnapped their own dragonet of destiny, and Starflight is thrilled — and terrified — to finally meet the rest of his tribe. Just like with the novels, I liked hearing the story from Sunny's perspective, she's an awesome character. The books focus on five dragons in their efforts to fulfill another prophecy and bring down Wasp's dictatorship of mind control which could threaten not just Pantala but also Pyrrhia as well.
How am I supposed to be convinced of the world's plausibility when the moon isn't a crescent, it's a sphere with a bite taken out it? The seven dragon tribes have been at war for generations, locked in an endless battle over an ancient, lost treasure.But even the bravest dragons can't follow him to the Ice Kingdom, where he'll have to face the greatest threat of all: his own family. Buried secrets, deadly surprises, and an unexpected side to scavengers are all waiting for her in the shifting sands of the desert, where Sunny must decide once and for all: Is her destiny already written? In the mind of a NightWing dragonet, a thousand futures unfold — and almost all of them, she knows, lead to disaster and destruction. I thought the way the obsidian mirror was portrayed was very well done and better than how I imagined it, but of course with any adaptation of something there are aspects that ruin my imagining of them; such as Quibli (my fav character) looked a little off and some of the ways the landscape was sized looked not completely accurate to how I in-vision the scale of Pyrrhia.
MEET MO AND ELLA is tough to find now, but FUN WITH MO AND ELLA should still be out there somewhere. The phrase "wings of fire" was chosen to both immediately invoke the imagery of dragons to readers as well as to represent an individual's ability to overcome destiny and uncover one's full potential. According to the myths, before they became the parents of Pyrrhia's most infamous dragon, Her Mother, Foeslayer, and the NightWings kidnapped an IceWing prince. In this guide, all-new art and maps will be joined by exclusive stories and folklore from Tui Sutherland.
