About this deal

We have mainly tested this trike with my 18 month old but before we put the footrests on my 3½ year old used it as a trike. And best of all you don’t need any tools to make any of the adjustments so it’s easy to make changes on the go. We love the look of this bike as well as the fact that it will last for such a long time thanks to the way it can be changed from trike to balance bike.

We often have a sunday afternoon stroll along the path of the canal where we live so it would be great for that and for all the other adventures we hope to get up to with our 20 month old son over the coming months. The trike would fit great into our summer we love visiting farms, zoos and it would also be great to take on holiday as it looks easy to assemble we can just pop it in the roof box until we get there! The footrests in particular were the thing that most people complimented us on when we were out and about with it with many friends telling me they have had to stop using their push along trikes due to their young children dragging their feet on the floor. I would use the Smart Trike to get my second out of the pushchair so when baby three arrives (mid-July) no pushchair will be required!I think it would be an excellent stepping stone between using the stroller and being able to go out on walks and bike rides. My husband and I are off to Center Parcs for a week in August and will be taking our 18 month old son with us. If you have a child eager to get on wheels, we've rounded up Mumsnetters' top picks to help you choose the best trike for your child. The three-point seatbelt and protective safety bar also keep younger children securely in the seat, and the bar can be removed when they're ready to be a bit more independent. This great looking trike from Globber is ideal for growing kids and easily adapts to suit them at different ages.

Our friend borrowed us theres for a trip to the zoo last month and ive got to say it went down a storm with our little boy! It would take some of the strain off them, and be an altogether less tiring experience, if they had this to aid them on ‘outings’! None the less, we assembled the Smart Trike and Ameli plonked herself down in the seat before it was even fully put together. Tyres – a grippy set of wheels and puncture-proof tyres are best suited to rough terrain, so if you plan to use the trike on the grass in your local park, then opt for a trike with large wheels.Neve is fast approaching her first birthday (sob) and as such, is getting to the point where she is wanting to explore a lot more of the world. As I do not drive I have to walk everywhere, I feel bad that my little boy is always in the pushchair looks so uncomfortable, but he’s not quite walking yet so I have no choice. The trike would be ideal as we could wheel her around in it and when she wants to toddle around I can manage her and the trike with one hand. We like the fact that it can be used both indoors and out, making it an ideal choice for parents in need of a budget-friendly all-rounder to keep kids busy during playtime.
