About this deal

Playground by Aron Beauregard is a gripping and unsettling horror novel that takes readers on a terrifying journey into a nightmarish playground. His books are hotly anticipated by his ever-growing throng of fans and he has been raking up the accolades as well – becoming Splatterpunk Award nominated and Splatterpunk Award winning during that time. If you're a parent or an older sibling, you probably know this feeling very well - the intense protectiveness and the fear of letting the child step out alone into the big and cruel world. The thing about Playground though that I appreciate about it is the way it doesn't shy away from abuse. The playground, she believes, is preparation for life, Jim will survive the experience, she feels, and he will be the better for it and more equipped to deal with the rigor and obligation of adult existence.

The story of five clueless parents and Grace (the only likable parent), not clueless but working all the damn time because her husband was too busy being lazy and banging another woman. Since this isn’t my usual genre but it still captivated me for most of the ride, I think anyone who enjoys a good twisty plot will love this. Esa mirada, según el final de la historia, es quizás una mirada de horror, más que una mirada de madurez.Melissa is an interior decorator who lives her life very strictly and tries her best to stay out of Paul's way. Throughout the summer and into the fall, the adults become more and more preoccupied with each other, leaving the kids to amuse themselves. Or perhaps it was the hard steel wire fence, not unlike those barriers in zoos, beyond which anything might happen. As the children begin to explore the structures, they are thrust into a diabolical realm filled with violence and danger.

Cut off from the outside world, the dysfunctional group of kids must quickly grow up and find a way to survive the horrors surrounding them. If he was lucky, in high school, the beatings and sadisms would refine themselves, the sea of blood and spittle would drain back down the shore of years and Jim would be left upon the edge of maturity, with God knows what outlook to the future, with a desire, perhaps, to be a wolf among wolves, a dog among dogs, a fiend among fiends. Big Little Lies meets Lord of The Flies in this electrifyingly twisty follow-up to Jane Shemilt’s breakout debut The Daughter. Rock is the character that from the beginning one can tell that he is a puppet on Geraldine's strings.Geraldine feels that the parents are undeserving of the lives they are living and the children they have. I've seen a lot of videos on TikTok about the "playground" by aron Beauregard, and the ppl that keep talking about a seen in page 40 of the physical book, I'm in general a lover for the grotesque, gore etc but I still want to be prepared, can anyone tell me the name of the chapter or the number? They are left to roam the outdoors while she begins tutoring children with dyslexia at her sprawling estate.

How much should we let them experience struggles and challenges so they are better prepared for life? I love talking about books with fellow bookworms, so I started my blog, Never Enough Novels, and joined the group here at Literary Quicksand! With vivid descriptions, shocking twists, and a touch of redemption, the story keeps readers on the edge of their seats, eager to discover what fate awaits the characters. Ray Bradbury may be the master of nostalgia - especially for the coexisting magic and sadness of childhood which he so well shows through the prism of enchantment and loneliness and longing. At first I was unsettled, I felt like I sometimes do when watching a British film production, I need subtitles even though they are speaking English. Dysfunction Children: A band of kids from the low-income families who find themselves in a terrifying and deadly situation, forcing them to grow up quickly and put their differences aside.

I get wanting to give your kids some freedom, especially when you have 2+ acres of woods to run around in, but you can’t do that with a two year old! Big Little Liesmeets Lord of The Fliesin this electrifyingly twisty follow-up to Jane Shemilt’s breakout debut The Daughter. In the end, I think I would have preferred the entire book to be written from the kids' perspective or even switch to the kids' perspective later on in the book. If you’re into children lusting after their own mothers at the small age of seven, then boy is this the book for you! He adapted sixty-five of his stories for television's The Ray Bradbury Theater, and won an Emmy for his teleplay of The Halloween Tree.Beauregard has set this up as an escape room story for kids – with the only difference being each room is literally live or die – and the dying part is always a carnage filled paragraph of viscera. While the adults are absorbed with themselves and each other, the children are left to their own devices. While the parents are bonding, hiding secrets, and having affairs, the children are left to themselves. If you’re new to extreme horror and want to see what it’s all about, this is an excellent place to dive in and discover how these novels will contain really well done plots with fantastic writing and some of the most horrific gore-filled scenes you’ll ever read.
