About this deal

He has published over 100 children's books and, with his late wife Janet, created such award winning picture books as Each Peach Pear Plum and The Jolly Postman - both winners of the Kate Greenaway Medal. This book is very interactive with interesting Christmas mail and presents to take out of the envelopes and share. This fantastic resource includes ideas for lessons, as well as suggestions for activities that you can use to enrich those lessons. And as I posted this review, I saw that they have other similar books, so perhaps this format is not so novel after all. Starting with a Christmas Card for Baby Bear that included a very funny joke from Goldilocks, whilst The Gingerbread Man received a book within a book - honestly this had everything.

Little hands will love opening the envelopes to read the post in this magical story, full of festive, fairy tale surprises! The book is written in rhyme and tells you about the people he delivers the letters to, all of whom are fairy tale characters such as little red riding hood and humpty dumpty. Find out what's on Humpty-Dumpty's get-well jigsaw and who has sent Red Riding Hood a board game for Christmas. You will find many creative activities based on each book to make reading even more enjoyable and interactive. He vaguely remembered reading the original Jolly Postman, and knows most of the fairy tale characters. Share the story The book is a sequel to The Jolly Postman who delivers letters to familiar characters from fairy tales. As you can see, there are plenty of ways that you can include The Jolly Christmas Postman in your teaching, no matter the subject. Janet Ahlberg was a commended runner up for the 1986 Greenaway Medal [7] [b] and she won the 1991 Greenaway for the sequel.

The popular children’s book by Janet and Allan Ahlberg is brought to life in this imaginative learning resource. Whilst completing these The Jolly Christmas Postman activities for KS1, not only will your class be having great fun, they’ll also be getting really involved with a wonderful story. He has published over 100 children's books and, with his late wife Janet, created such award winning picture books as EACH PEACH PEAR PLUM and THE JOLLY POSTMAN - both winners of the Kate Greenaway Medal. This includes great selflessness as he travels far and wide, stopping at nothing to make sure that all the fairytale characters across the land receive their gifts and have a lovely Christmas. My Grandma read this to me every year when I was tiny, then I could read the easier words and she would read the difficult bits and then when she found out it would be her last Christmas she got me my own copy so I could continue to read the story each year. The wit and detail in all the "extras" (including a Humpty Dumpty jigsaw so you can put him back together again yourself. The Jolly Postman follows an unnamed mail carrier as he delivers letters by bicycle to characters from traditional children's stories that are well known in Britain.
