The love-hate relationship between Becca (the best friend) and Charlie (the fiancé) is written so beautifully and is realistic and funny and shocking at times. S. I Love You, the longing and the push/pull relationship that I adored in One Day, and the wit and chemistry that made 500 Days of Summer so memorable. When I first started reading, I initially felt like I was thrust right into the middle of the story, however, it’s very easy to catch up with the chain of events and the subsequent plot that follows. To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose. Becca and Charlie have always had two things in common: their general dislike of each other, and their love for Ally. The bulk of the story is about Becca and Charlie traversing grief and finding themselves and what they really want over the course of 10 years. The premise of the fiancé and the best friend completing her bucket list, after her death, was a fun way to do an enemy to lovers trope. Though I would have loved to see more of Charlie and Becca together in the end, I found TEN YEARS to be completely satisfying and beautiful. They agree to honor Ally's request, so every year over the course of 10 years they find themselves coming together on different adventures.

It was no hardship to spend half a dozen hours in their company over the course of a couple of days. The only reason they’ve ever tolerated each other is because of their mutual love of one person: Ally. One of the sweetest touches I found was that the book both started and ended with Ally…though she was never alive during the book and only referred to in memory she was very much the thread that held the entire story together and I felt like I knew and understood her as much as any of the living characters in the story.

She leaves behind a bucket list of things she always wanted to do, and she asks Becca and Charlie to complete the list together. Yet they both loved Ally and now that she has died, surely they can just move on with their lives and not see each other again. But TEN YEARS should in no way be classified as just another book where the reader gets tiny peeks into the character’s lives once a year because it was so much more than that. They can be absolutely vicious to one another, but they find they can be honest without one another in ways they never have been with other partners. A Winter in New York is about laying the past to rest and finding your own future, of facing the w A gorgeous love story within another gorgeous love story, as Silver has written as much a romance about New York city as the tale between Iris and Gio.
