About this deal

The extra thin formula allows the modeler to glue together small pieces that require pin point accuracy and finesse. Also, if you know that you are sensitive to the chemicals the cement is made of, you should think about using latex gloves because the capillary action often causes the cement to seep from the plastic parts onto your fingers. Although it is a quick-setting cement, it still allows for some minor alignment corrections after the cement is applied.

The original Extra Thin cement usually takes a couple of minutes to set and hours to days to completely cure.I personally prefer the Quick Setting version because the original sometimes takes too long to cure and therefore is prone to cause ghost seam lines if the model is assembled too quickly. Liquid type plastic cement that is designed to work with plastic models and other similar plastic materials found in model making. Fantastic Tamiya thin cement works by 'melting' the plastic together and does so in under 10 seconds. With traditional liquid cement, you would apply the cement to a part and then you would attach it where it belongs. Original Tamiya Extra Thin Cement (Item 87038) is still recommended for use in situations where you wish to fill larger gaps and seams.

It is highly liquid and able to flow into even small cracks, making it useful for attaching parts in very tight spaces. The extra thin formula allows the modeller to glue together small pieces that require pin point accuracy and finesse using the fine brush included. The only difference I can see is that Airbrush Cleaner has a slight yellowish tint and the Extra Thin is clear.
