Take a browse or borrow from a library, but the most frustrating aspect of the book is the potential it had to be so much more robust. As is always the case with these art-books, it always feels like there is never enough to go through everything the film offers as there is one long dissection over one sequence from Across the Spider-Verse, which is actually the most striking scene where Miles and Gwen are reunited and have a touching moment on the clock tower. The art is stunning the texture and lines are so great and there’s really interesting commentary on the development of settings and characters . In creating a thoroughly modern hero with Miles, the filmmakers talk about why this character means a great deal, in terms of diversity and representation. Some are low-information bits and being a 2/3-1/3 affair it’s not as bad as some other books, but it’s continually baffling why they do this.The writing was tight and perfect and as spot-on in character to Spidy as any Brian Michael Bendis Spider-Man comic.
