While things initially go as expected, Bitzer quickly goes completely over the top with his training regime and starts running the farm with military precision, driving everyone crazy. A film crew arrives to record a rare bird nesting at Mossybottom Farm, but the farmer is attracted to one of them and ruins their attempts. This episode was originally titled "Members Only" when released on the Nintendo Video service but was re-titled "Bale Maze" when it was released as part of the Mossy Bottom Shorts on YouTube.

After completing all of his tasks, Bitzer is shocked to find the state of the barn and decides to help by tidying up. At first, the flock welcome their new residents, but soon, the new llamas get a bit too comfortable in their new home, and the Flock grow suspicious of their intentions. However, when Bitzer loses the ticket and it ends up in the bull's pen, he and Shaun must get it back. She appears to be adventurous and an animal lover, patting Bitzer and Shaun and offering food to Timmy. When he sees his master's clumsy attempt to build a new kennel, Bitzer is so distraught that he packs his bags and leaves home.

A series of 15 1-minute 3D shorts were released on Nintendo's Video service for the Nintendo 3DS between March and June 2012. Shaun persuades Bitzer to take part in his game of cricket but Bitzer is more worried about the condition of the pitch than the game. He has a lot of difficulty trying to rehang a perpetually tilting picture, until the flock comes up with its own solution.

But as Timmy is opening some presents, an important football game on the Farmer's TV distracts them from minding him. Shaun tries to find out what is causing Bitzer and the flock's strange behaviour, in that they have frequent and unexpected tics. He was named Shaun as a pun on the word "shorn" after he was accidentally subjected to Wallace's automated sheep shearing machine.

The Farmer is out of shape, so Bitzer decides to encourage him to get fit using an improvised exercise bike from the scrap heap. Every time the postman pays the Farmer a visit, Bitzer’s canine instincts get the better of him, resulting in shredded mail and an irate farmer. This was the only time throughout the series for all 20 episodes to be aired on the same day, 16 March 2020. Shaun initially can't get rid of them fast enough, but when their mother shows up, he has to save their lives.

Disguised in their own ingenious costumes, the sheep stand in as the guests and have a good old knees-up. He is, however, a generally good friend to Shaun and does his best to keep the whole flock out of trouble. Shaun takes the opportunity to learn how to play, while Bitzer is forced to tend to his injured master inside the house. When the Farmer's Niece comes for a visit, Shaun and Bitzer soon discover she isn't as cute and adorable as she seems.

The Farmer (voiced by John Sparkes) is a bespectacled, balding man who runs the farm with Bitzer at his side and acts as the flock's primary, if unwitting, nemesis. In August 2022, The European Space Agency announced that Shaun would fly aboard the Artemis 1 mission which launched on 16 November 2022. His efforts, however, lead his weary friends into a series a scrapes rather than giving them a good night’s sleep. A second short film, Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas, was released on Netflix on 3 December 2021.
