About this deal

Not only did it help the shoe drop a considerable amount of weight, but it’s also made the shoe more breathable. The Triumph clearly stands up to its reputation of a long distance slipper and I really cannot see something bad to mention about the upper of the shoe. Whether you're marathon training, running your first mile, or hitting the trail, Saucony will have a performance shoe to suit you. The upper material is thinner and covered with venting perforations making this shoe much more enjoyable to run in than past versions.

Cut in half: Saucony Triumph 19 Review (2023) | RunRepeat

He is a footwear enthusiast at heart and will always appreciate a high quality shoe when it comes around. Running since 2013 and quickly transitioned to trails, focused on ultras since 2015 : TDS, Maxi-Race, “100 miles du Sud”, 90kms du Mt Blanc, GRP 120kms, Some shorter mellow races (Saintelyon 45kms, Ecotrail Paris 45kms…) with always in the mix road and flat running, but not many road races. Stephen Seiler, a professor of sport science at the University of Agder, has determined the 80/20 rule for endurance athletes (80% of training volume should be at low intensity and 20% should be at high intensity).less, two ounces lighter, a similarly firm-but-well-cushioned ride, even more bounce, just as breathable of an upper, I could keep going. For me, I think the Invincible is a great part of a line up, but wouldn’t want to run it every day, while the Triumph shines as the bread and butter of your lineup. As a consequence, I must admit that I enjoyed the T19 far more than expected, and it has easily found a place in my shoe rotation. On the up-tempo side, I do not find the Sonic Accelerate much more efficient, and it may be due to its lower weight. Busting out the calipers, I can’t find a difference in proportions anywhere, and it’s easy to see that they are incredibly similar.

Saucony Triumph 19 Multi Tester Review Road Trail Run: Saucony Triumph 19 Multi Tester Review

This was true running easy 9:30-minute miles and faster fartleks at 7:05, 7:45, and 8:30-minute pace on the roads of Philadelphia’s Main Line and on the nature trail around Haverford College.Comfort, responsiveness, smooth ride, durability, grip, discreet and fun look: this latest model was unanimously appreciated by runners, even those who didn’t particularly like the Triumph before. The Triumph line is known for its cushioning, and the new 19 is one ounce lighter and has a more breathable mesh upper as compared to the 18. In an A/B test, the Invincible is certainly more fun on the foot, but that bouncy and high stack has much less stability. One thing I have found funny is how much tastes have changed in the last few years - when the Triumph 17 debuted Saucony’s PWRRUN+ midsole, we all thought it was super plush and soft. Speaking of faster paces if one was hoping for a hint of responsiveness for some intermittent speed work this midsole is not it.

Some of them compare the Triumph 19 to the interior of a Mercedes: putting on this shoe gives an immediate feeling of premium comfortunder the foot designed to last. The latest set of footwear coming out of this brand is so bold and fun, it just makes you want to snatch these out of the box and just head out on a hilly 10-mile tempo with the shortest pair of shorts in your drawer. For trainers and performance trainers, we take them on daily runs, workouts, recovery runs and a long run prior to review (often accumulating anywhere from 20-50 miles in the process). If you run exclusively in cold weather then the 18 is probably better for you, but for the rest of us, the update is a welcome change. It has a nice density to it that is sensible even when walking in the shoes, or thumb-pushing into it. The reviewers who tried the T19 are unanimous on the subject: there’s nothing to complain about this simple and effective outsole. There’s certainly a demand for more carbon-neutral footwear in general (for information, Brooks did it with its Ghost 14,which is carbon neutral, in addition to being 100% vegan). It’s also pretty stylish and in my opinion blows its closest competition, the Brooks Glycerine 19, out of the water with a slightly more peppy ride.

As someone who does not tolerate any pronation control, I appreciate that this shoe allowed my foot to do what it wants to do while providing ample cushioning. The collar and tongue are pillow-like—securing your foot after knotting the bucatini-thick laces, granting your toes ample wiggle room. If you are a footwear rep looking for footwear reviews or consultations on development, we are currently looking to partner with companies to assist, discuss and promote footwear models. The RW Takeaway: The Triumph 19 is a mileage base builder, post-marathon recovery shoe, and workhorse trainer. The weight saving here must be substantial, versus the Puma Velocity for instance, where the inner sleeve doubles the outer mesh from mid to forefoot, and was unnecessary.
