Other than helping oil and water to blend, the main thing of Olivem 1000 is generating liquid crystal structures that are similar to the lipid structures of the stratum corneum (the outermost layer of the skin). This water cream is a gentle moisturizer from Rovectin's Clean Line, that hydrates the skin with clean ingredients sourced from nature.One more thing: the water used in cosmetics is purified and deionized (it means that almost all of the mineral ions inside it is removed). It also helps fade dark-spots and strengthen the skin by promoting the growth of the ceramide barrier.

In vivo (made on real people) tests showthat 3% Aquaxyl not only increases the water content of the outer layer instantly and in the long run but it also visibly improves cracked, dry skin and smoothes the skin surface after a month of treatment. A study shows that a nail treatment liquide with 2% panthenol could effectively get into the nail and significantly increase the hydration of it. On the other side, it also limits water loss by improving the skin barrier with increased lipid (ceramides and cholesterol) and protein synthesis. I do think it’s a bit too thick for me when the weather is hot (oily-combo), but it’s great in the PM and as a Winter Moisturiser to lock everything in.I’ve tried their Cica Care Sleeping Pack and while it’s a great moisturizer, I find it too sticky and heavy for daily use. Dryness can be caused by a variety of factors: genetics, over-exfoliating, climate, diet, age, and skin conditions.

Thanks to this, Olivem 1000 doubles as an active ingredient with significant moisturizing, barrier-repairing and soothing properties. My skin isn’t a fan of thick/heavy formulas so I opt for lightweight formulas to prevent it from clogging up.

I also find, because it’s also hydrating, I don’t need to layer up too much on hydrating serums and toners underneath to get the effect I want.
