The impression is that he devoted a lot of time to the appearance of the film and very little to the development of the script.I have been wanting to read this book for some time - if for nothing else but for the amazing artwork that Chris Van Allsburg created for this book. The boy is offered anything he desires yet simply asks for a bell from the reindeer’s harness which proves to be the most precious of gifts. After the performance you will have an opportunity to take selfies with some of the performance cast in front of the steam engine. This story book, also a Caldecott winner (the most distinguished American picture book for children), is probably most well-known as a major motion picture. My general opinion of Chris Van Allsburg is that his books are made to appeal to adults, not children.

During the journey, you will meet characters from the film, most notably the Polar Express conductor and, of course, Santa. Drawings of 1225 were used to create the CGI model of the locomotive in the film while most of its sounds were also recorded from 1225. The journey lasts around 2 – 2 1/2 hours during which there will be hot chocolate, Christmas carols and a light show once you reach the ‘North Pole’. Late one Christmas Eve after the town has gone to sleep, the boy boards the mysterious train that waits for him: the Polar Express bound for the North Pole.Writing the story became easier by that point as he found it natural to have Santa and Christmas Eve be involved. Today, it is widely considered as a classic Christmas story for young children, although the point has been challenged. The book is also lovely and you may want to take along a copy to join in with some of the story telling on certain trains. The boy and the other children see thousands of elves gathered at the center of town waiting to send Santa Claus on his way.

I'm still in the spirit of Christmas, because Christmas isn't until the 7th of January here in Ukraine. The boy places the bell in the pocket of his robe and all the children watch as Santa takes off into the night for his annual deliveries. The train passes through towns and villages, followed by a cold, dark forest and then up mountains, never slowing down along the way.

The journey on the Polar Express at Cholsey and Wallingford starts out as the movie starts and during the journey you will meet all of the main characters and enjoy hot chocolate and cookies. Due to current safety guidelines, ticket sales have been limited so it is best to book as soon as you can as they sell out quickly.
