The scenes in which Pingg smacks Pingu on the head and Pingo makes Pingu trips over his ball were removed from BBC airings and VHS releases; this later led to the episode being pulled from British television altogether. This special is about twenty-five minutes long, but a 5-minute version exists with completely new footage; considering a number of differences with the final special, this was most likely a pitch pilot produced to get the feature greenlit. Pingu shows the photo to Father, who gets out Mother and Father's wedding album with the green penguin friends and shows it to Pingu and Pinga. Mother then comes in and tells Father that she needs a new hat, so they go out to get one, and leave Pingu and Pinga alone at home again.

The HiT Parade menu used in the original UK 2005 release was reused from Ultimate Children's Favourites. Pingu's fork is shown to be made of metal at first, but when he damages the prongs, it changes to clay. Father and Grandfather chat to some of the other guests, and Mother and Pinga go to coo over an egg in a cradle being looked after by its mother.
