About this deal
Discover the darkness that lurks around every corner in the latest instalment of Peter James’s award-winning detective series, which is now a major ITV programme starring John Simm as Roy Grace. Whilst it can be read as a standalone book, I would recommend reading the others in the series as well.
This page is dedicated to giving you the latest Picture You Dead release information, along with Picture You Dead book cover art, synopsis and more. The Murder of an art dealer in 2015 links neatly into the current scene of wheeling and dealing to extract as much money as possible from art fanatics wishing to procure masterpieces. Cleverly plotted with numerous twists and turns we delve into the world of fine art, an area Roy Grace knows little about to discover the deception and greed of those who paint and collect the art. Grace has dealt with numerous criminal subjects over the years while mourning the disappearance of his first wife Sandy, mentoring Glenn Branson, battling Cassian Pewe, putting up with the un-PC Norman Potting of whom he is secretly very fond and falling in love with mortuary assistant Cleo Morey and starting a family with her. Harry and Freya Kipling have long dreamed of finding something special in their boot sale tat, something that would change their lives forever. The first two novels in the Roy Grace series, Dead Simple and Looking Good Dead, have been adapted for television by Endeavour's Russell Lewis.
Roy just about keeps it together as he delivers the eulogy until he looks up and sees his nemesis Cassian Pewe towards the back of the church. Picture You Dead is a slower-paced story than many of the others but that is no bad thing because Peter James builds tension nicely. His Roy Grace detective novels have sold more than one and a half million in the UK alone and six million worldwide in total.
