About this deal

While it may lack the jazzy lighting, astronomical specs, and a greater number of buttons and wheels, for reliability, versatility, and value this is a brilliant wireless mouse that won’t let you down in the heat of battle. Buttons are fewer than on MMO-focused devices such as the Logitech G600 or the Razer Naga, but this is intended to be more of an all-rounder mouse. Of course, casual players won’t have an issue, and the tracking is more than reliable enough to aim accurately at a shooter. Like all gaming mice, the G602 has its strengths and weaknesses when it comes to various video-game genres.

On the left side, handily accessible by the thumb, are six programmable buttons, ideal for macros and keybinds used during MMORPGs and similar games. The display of third-party trademarks and trade names on this site does not necessarily indicate any affiliation or the endorsement of PCMag. You can use this to switch from “performance” mode to “endurance”, which will give you 1,440 hours of battery life. com and PC Magazine are among the federally registered trademarks of Ziff Davis and may not be used by third parties without explicit permission.

Logitech’s wireless mouse has an otherwise respectable spec sheet, boasting a super-accurate Delta Zero sensor and a respectable 500Hz polling rate – that’s how many times per second the mouse pings your computer. You can adjust the DPI at a moment's notice, with the front mounted sensitivity adjustment buttons, or you can set up to five preset DPI settings to swap between.

Now’s a good time to point out that the G602 also comes with a USB extender cable for the receiver, which you can use to reduce the distance between the dongle and the mouse.

The longevity doesn't apply solely to active use, however--when not in use, the mouse shifts to a hibernation mode which stretches the battery life as long as 1,440 hours, or 60 days without having to turn off the mouse between sessions. This is largely down to there being enough re-programmable buttons on the mouse to be useful for games such as League of Legends and Dota 2. Editorial independence means being able to give an unbiased verdict about a product or company, with the avoidance of conflicts of interest. The wireless mouse powers off of two AA batteries, though Logitech has added a unique capability—the G602 can get by on one battery just as well as two. Logitech hasn’t rocked the boat when it comes to mouse design, peddling a familiar shape and button configuration.

However, this does reduce response accuracy and sensitivity, so you’ll want to use this only when you’re not actually gaming. With days and even weeks of use between battery replacements, you won't feel like you're feeding a ravenous battery-eating beast, and the option of using one battery or two has the dual-effect of letting you get by with one when you don't have two on hand, or opting for a single battery to reduce the weight of the mouse. Of course, this is a wireless mouse and as such, the elephant in the room will always be battery life. Obviously, the lack of wires results in a mouse that’s easy to slide around, but its smooth bottom also helps it to glide across most flat surfaces. The Logitech G602 is a wireless mouse, connecting to the PC via Logitech's G-Series Receiver, which offers the convenience of wireless connectivity without the pitfalls of lag and interference.Where the G602 wasn’t so great was with first-person shooters, and this is due to the low native sensitivity.

The downside is that it’s not as luxurious as Razer’s Chrome devices, nor is it as quirky as a Mad Catz mouse. The market for gaming mice is oversaturated, so you have to be sure to choose a device that fits your needs.

The G602 features Logitech's Delta Zero sensor, which offers tracking sensitivity between 250 and 2,500 DPI and registers up to 2 meters of travel per second. A thumb-rest juts out from the side for added support and ribbed rubber improves grip when your palms get sweaty. A row of blue LEDs on the side of the G602 are used to display which DPI level you’re at – more on that later.
