About this deal

There are yellow and red striped Catalan flags, red and blue Blaugrana flags, and blue flags with the yellow FC Barcelona crest. Putting the two stand sections together with the playing field gives you an idea of how things are progressing. The back of the box showcases the dimensions of the set (Height: 8″/20cm, Width: 19″/49cm, Depth: 18″/46cm), some inset shots of the real life stadium and LEGO version, and a “view from the field” alternate angle of the build. The colored seating sections that create the large letters have a stickered background print that matches the grooved pattern, although the colors don’t match up perfectly. FC Barcelona and the LEGO Group announce the new LEGO® Camp Nou – FC Barcelona set, a detailed tribute to the iconic stadium.

As with Man Utd and the Old Trafford set, if there's any way they can monetise their brand/image then they will. That is because for how much like both of those sets 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona amazes as a display model and for where it resembles 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United in selected techniques and general approach, it also comes very close in stages to the build experience for 10276 Colosseum. The first thing that struck to me was the choice of Tan as the exterior colour an not Light Bluish Grey. Football fans worldwide are in for a treat (as are the soccer fans in the US) as LEGO has created a scale model of FC Barcelona’s massive Camp Nou. I considered making more references to the Colosseum set, but since I don’t personally own a copy I decided it was better to just focus on the build in front of me.Assembling the iconic home of FC Barcelona, soon you’ll be able to build one of the largest LEGO landmarks to date with the Camp Nou stadium. It is here where for over six decades (and only interrupted by the pandemic) more than 90,000 fans have shuffled into the ground every week to worship La Blaugrana (blue and reds). Written on the seats of Camp Nou’s east stand are the words of the club’s motto, ‘Més que un Club’ (More than a Club), reflective of ideals that resonate through the club’s ownership structure (where club Presidents are elected and 144,000 members each have a vote); that on the pitch speaks to the pursuit of results but never at the expense of style of play; and that are in the club’s various directives to promote equality and awareness away from the pitch, too.

The sheer number of sections required, however, means that you’re in for a very long slog of repetitive building. If I’m not interested in something it is because I have impeccable taste and my opinions speak for everyone on this planet. Regarding LEGO, theyve already branched out into Funkos, and now theyre chasing sneakerheads, i can sorta see someone w/ a wall of shoes having one LEGO one, not that out there. You can read our review here and commiserate in the comments below if it has sold out by the time you are reading this. From a LEGO perspective, Camp Nou is architecturally a fascinating subject matter to study, and one that makes 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona a very interesting model, in shape, design and colour. I think like Old Trafford this set is aimed at getting football fans into Lego rather than the other way around, so I can understand why there are so many negative poll responses. That being said, 10284 Camp Nou – FC Barcelona benefits where 10276 Colosseum could not by offering so much more colour across the build and various other little details and variations.

The final quadrant is a mirror of the third, with the final bit of lettering filling the middle tier. There’s nothing too exciting about this, but I was surprised the designers didn’t have this section be the final part of the build. From the outside edge, things continue to look good, with the “Camp” tile lining up with the “Nou” on the previous chunk. Whether intentional or not, it obscures full context for writing these reviews, be that sometimes positively or sometimes negatively. The two football clubs they've done so far have large worldwide fan-bases (probably very popular in Denmark), so on paper there is a market for them.
