About this deal

The range offers a wide variety of bends, couplers, reducers, blanking caps and straight lengths in multiple sizes and colours. Thus, it’s crucial to find a brake pipe material that can last long without needing frequent repair and breakdowns. FWIW it's apparently illegal to use copper for brake pipes in many countries, it's to do with fatigue life as copper work hardens more quickly than cunifer. corrosion tool is made from alloy so that it leaves alloy in the "pitting" of corrosion when the pipe is scraped with the tool and does not remove any thickness from the steel brake pipe.

As most have said use copper-nickel or cupro or kunnifer (all the same thing just different names) pipe opposed to plain copper, more durable and safer and with a decent flaring tool, as above, is no bother to flare. The longest tube (4-way to rear brakes) was bent in half with a large-large radius and was easily straightened. But before we delve into details of Kunifer brake pipes, let’s understand the working of brake pipes, in general, a little bit more.

I'm going for braided hoses where movement is needed, which is only from the inner wing to the suspension struts at the front and then a 3rd to the rear axle, the rest is to be solid pipes.A little harder to form flares than copper lines, but doesn't work harden anything like the extent that copper does. The ones that came off the standard calipers however were well past their use by date by the looks of them, I actually snapped one removing it.

Between thumb and fingers, there's little you can't do with small bore copper pipe by hand, especially once softened or fully annealed. View under car with new Kunifer lines installed, routing around the suspension chassis mount was awkward but having the old lines as templates saved the day. It's a bit harder to flare but A) looks a lot better as it doesn't corrode and B) it can be bent to a much tighter radius than Cu. So that means every mot failure gets it's brakes replaced with copper, doesn't mean it's the best for the job though.
