If you wanted to get this cologne as a gift for someone, I would say a man older than 25 would enjoy this. Now it stands in the dark closet and waits for these rare occasions when I reach for the botlle only to smell the pump. It's definitely a fragrance that's a matter of taste, with a very classic build and a depth and sillage that you have to go for. After reading a majority of the reviews, I came across some people that feel like me, and others that feel a little different.

I think someone getting an initial smell and having this type of reaction speaks highly of the cologne.

To me, it also has a hint of a smell that I can’t put my finger on, but this is what throws it off a little for me. The middle notes are violet leaves, sandalwood, cedar, carnation, lily of the valley, honeysuckle, jasmine, and nutmeg.

I’m always curious about the reactions to Grey Flannel, and of late it seems to illicit a bit of confusion, and for some, disdain. This fragrance opens with a scent of lavender, paired with birch, which creates a pleasant, but somewhat simple scent. It's also easy to find "vintage" bottles-- nobody really over values this fragrance (and in this case- that's a GOOD thing).Due to the boldness of this fragrance, it might not work during ta formal occasion, however, this makes for a great casual fragrance, perfect for both the day and the night. However, during those warmer months, this is such a fantastic fragrance to wear to pretty much any occasion.

The scent of this fragrance is quite strong and would be way too overpowering when worn during the warmer months. This leaves you with an overall fresh, spicy scent of violet, supported by a nice base of white musk.To wear it successfully you will need garments without any laundry detergent scent residue left in them and unperfumed soap and body lotion for your toilette. Piercingly green, almost alien in its combination of floral lavishness and soapy reserve, this is signature-as-role-play for those with the style and imagination to make it work.
