In its entirety, the story is beautiful and I encourage everybody to give it an honest chance - if not to the manga, then at the very least to the anime. No matter how many times I revisit it, it always makes me happy (which is kind of ironic since so many of my fav characters die). Volume one sets everything: Tanjirou's mission, expositions about demons and demon slayers, the trainings and final challenges.

Nezuko’s attempt to wake Tanjiro up allows him to realize he is in a dream and, advised by a vision of his father, commits suicide to wake up. I like how the manga already connects with you emotionally and establishes that its a brother trying to save his sister and the author does a good job balancing many things and also the stakes in particular.There's many ways to enjoy this story in both anime and manga forms that it is understandable why it's very popular.
