With its distinctive music and compulsive game-play, the show has recently been given a new lease of life – and audience – through the 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown adaptation on Channel 4.

At the end of each turn, first character becomes the last one, and is turn marker is moved to the right of the previous last character on the countdown board. The player to the left of the youngest player now chooses their set of letters for the second letters game with the player to their left placing the letters on the board. The game consists of a board, special writing pads (with a set of pencils), a special die and four decks of cards (with word games, number games and Conundrums).Answer general knowledge questions for the chance to guess whether your next card is higher or lower.

This player then picks up the filter sheet provided and uses it to read the answer disguised on the Conundrum Card.As teams answer the LOGO style question cards - including picture cards, theme cards and pot luck - they hang their decorations on the tree. In SUSPICION mode, one to two guards infiltrate the prisoners, looking to prevent their escape through deception or brutality!
