About this deal

Batman/Catwoman— An out-of-continuity sequel to Batman (Tom King), set in a world where James Tynion's run doesn't happen. Broad Strokes: The name of the game with the Black Label is to tell out-of-continuity stories, but not necessarily so out there to be considered Elseworlds. Selina and Bruce's romance lasts only for a night because Bruce must continue to pose as Jezebel's lover to bring down the Black Glove. When superhero movies, TV shows, animated features, and licensed products for children and adults are everywhere, and the general public is expected to be fluent in the lore of a property, comics should be able to speak of their own history in an intuitive and visually literate way. In Batman: Dark Victory, he stands her up on two holidays, causing her to leave him for good and to leave Gotham City for a while.

While plenty of other heroes don't have their final fates shown, it seems that many of the heroes who survived the chaos of their former careers have found some sense of peace and stability outside their former community. The plot is well paced, the dialogue is snappy, and his take on an older-but-wiser Selina Kyle is absolutely brilliant. We know the Batcave, with its oversized playing card, giant penny, computer that takes up a whole wall, and that dinosaur. Zatanna gives no reason for her actions, but in a flashback, it is shown that she had acted with the consent and aid of five of the seven JLA members who had helped her mindwipe Dr. The inside covers of the single issues include black and white images that allow the reader to see just how much is being fleshed out in color. His choices make understated sequences shine: I was impressed by a scene of two characters walking at night, due to its use of streetlights as both a light source and a page design element.

Catwoman: Lonely City collects issues 1-4 of the DC Comics Black Label series written, drawn, colored, and lettered by Cliff Chiang. Batman: Damned— When Joker's dead body is recovered, Batman journeys through a Gotham City hellscape with John Constantine to uncover the killer's identity. Wonder Woman: Dead Earth— Diana awakens from a centuries-long sleep to discover that the world of man has been ravaged by nuclear war, and it's up to her to defend the last remnants of humanity from the grotesque monsters that roam the wastelands. Batman: Beyond The White Knight— When Terry McGinnis steals the Beyond suit on behalf of Gotham Motors CEO Derek Powers, Bruce escapes from prison and enlists Jason Todd to destroy his tainted legacy once and for all. They have a daughter named Helena Wayne, who, as the Huntress, becomes (along with Dick Grayson, the Earth-Two Robin) Gotham's protector once Wayne retires from the position to become police commissioner, a position he occupies until he is killed during one final adventure as Batman.

Selina, fearing the many dangers of a post-Batman Gotham, proposes that she, Ivy, and Harley Quinn team up, living together at a single base in an abandoned animal shelter. During an encounter with Batman and Tarzan, a female thief, dressed as a cat, is revealed to be the princess of the tribe, as well as the priestess of its cat-cult, trying to reclaim the artifacts. After he tells her that he plans on getting an emotional response before killing her, Selina steals a car and heads to the mental institution where Maggie is held, believing Black Mask is coming for her. Batman: Curse of the White Knight— A direct sequel to Batman: White Knight, which was the most recently released graphic novel to be retroactively folded into the label.

He ends by telling Selina that he will always love her, when she opens her eyes and reveals to him that she was awake all the time and heard his confession. The Batman: White Knight Saga — The original series was retroactively placed under the Black Label imprint with all subsequent installments being released under it. With a smart and unique story and breathtaking visuals, the end result is easily one of the greatest Catwoman stories ever told. The feelings and the ideas generated by the reading experience seem to bubble up from the depths, because the reading experience itself is so smooth.Steve Lieber, working with Matt Fraction on Jimmy Olsen, used these references to things the audience recognized to mine a vein of self-aware zaniness, and created a comic that was perfectly fun. It’s an unmissable artistic statement that will change the way you see Gotham’s heroes and villains forever!

Selina learns that the crook has stolen a ring she found in a Cracker Jack box and had given to her mother. The new Gotham is cleaner, safer…and a lot less free, under the watchful eye of Mayor Harvey Dent and his Batcops. Two-Face is the storyline's primary villain, having seemingly worked to overcome his darker impulses as Gotham's mayor. After flitting from rooftop to rooftop, Selina looks back just in time to see her apartment blown apart by explosives. The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage— The Question discovers that he's been the subject of reincarnation since at least The '30s and seeks to investigate. Helena later came to her father's aid and found that soldiers from another world killed Catwoman as Batman mourns her death. It is revealed that Selina Kyle had been in a bad marriage, and eventually decided to leave her husband.
