About this deal

La historia no se parece a nada que haya leído con anterioridad y me ha dejado con ganas de leer más cosas de Junji Ito. Besides touching thematic such as greed and selfishness, the object that depicts greed is highly associated with the meaning of life which the protagonists so highly wanted to reject, that object’s origin is from a play of words that ends up to be explored by the author in a literal sense on the progress of the story, that mindset might seem a bit psychotic, but also highly creative and well thought upon.

Ultimately, the creatures seem to take over Japan and I feel it's implied that they will eventually take over the world. His knack for sequential storytelling gets some appreciated breathing room in an ongoing plot like this, even as he utilizes less of those suspense-delivering page turns. It’s hard to explain without giving too much of the story, but the own selfishness of the act of quitting to live is altered as soon as an opportunity of being greedy and gaining a new life purpose who fills the void of being empty and self-aware.In Japanese, it's written yūmon 幽門, which has the kanji for ghost in it, which I liked, but there's no deeper meaning beyond that.

He's also the first one who knows about the main power of stones, the one who suggests the get-rich-quick scheme, and is savvy enough to quickly see that something is wrong with the plot and pulls a Screw This, I'm Outta Here. Some parts the dialogue seems a bit too overdone and boring, but since it’s a volume long piece it’s pretty easy to keep reading and finish without much boredom involved. She has the spirit jewels valued and classified as a new kind of mineral, also putting them on sale under the name "Paradoxical Night.

A suicide pact amongst four people twists and warps into a bizarre and heavy-handed parable about humanity's greed and its self-destructive pursuit of energy sources. isn't assembled properly, and their second attempt accidentally leads to the discovery of a doorway to another world, a world hosting precious stones. The setup book was fantastic but I will admit that I did not completely love the execution of the idea.

They have spotted bodies, rounded backs and very long legs, with which they would jump all over the place as soon as you got near them. The idea of the evils within humanity, how that might spill out as a broader result of knowing and exploring the realm of the soul, ends up contributing as well to the more 'real' feelings of fear at the heart of all the weirdness being illustrated in Black Paradox. The ratio of panels with body horror to those with people just talking was way too low, and the gore -- while it had a couple moments -- wasn't on par with what you'd expect from Junji Ito. Ben K: Judging from the reaction within English-language fan communities when the art book was announced, demand for a translation is high! It's all a little dumb and a little dull though, with wooden and shallow characters whose terrible fates could barely stir a shrug in me. You really aren't presented with a reason to really care about the characters or what they are doing, and it makes for a very boring read once you get over the concept. The protagonists discover a seemingly miraculous power source with an invisible but nevertheless deadly side effect, and they decide that the only way to save humanity is to warn them of how dangerous it is before the entire human species is killed off by overusing this power source.
