About this deal

Fearne is an ambassador for The Prince’s Trust and also a patron for Post Pals, Tyler’s Trust and Coppafeel!

Donna Lancaster, co-founder of The Bridge Retreat, will introduce The Power of Prayer, an alternative non-religious approach to praying, that supports people to connect with the spiritual dimension to life. As a scientist, I did struggle with some aspects as I am a super critical and empirical evidence based person so it can be hard to get out of my own head at times. The book is presented in an easy to read style while introducing us to things that are, truly, Bigger Than Us…… spirituality, faith, reiki, shamanism, mediumship, manifesting, and Enneagram numbers among other. I've finished the book with lots of topics I now want to go away and explore further, and I started doing a couple of the things Fearne discussed in the book as I was reading it. This book helped to inspire me to change my thinking and work towards obtaining a more peaceful life. Does power always corrupt or are there examples of leaders who have maintained their integrity while in authority?

But this is no hard sell and Fearne clearly knows that some of the things she talks about might be too "woo woo" for some. Following more than 4,000 complaints made about the BBC's coverage of the Diamond Jubilee in 2012 and in particular criticism of Cotton's role, she responded on Twitter by stating, "Grown men who slag me off in articles/online are huge bullies. From intuition and energy to the law of attraction, ritual, prayer, and signs, Fearne explores positive ideas and exercises that are available to every single one of us. It was relatable and somewhat comforting to realise that someone in the public eye suffers from the same self doubts and negative thinking that I have suffered from also from time to time. However one belief I do have that I’ll share with you is I don’t think it matters how much “evidential proof” we have of any of these things to be a justifiable coping mechanism. I will say that the last 1/4 of the book got a little repetitive and cringe and lost me a little bit - felt a little bit too out there and felt harder to relate to as a result. I assume that once I get there my relationships will be better, my love for the planet will be more respectful and my understanding of love in all its many guises will be cemented. Featuring interviews covering topics such as meditation, prayer, ritual, the enneagram and more, Fearne embarks on a journey to find peace, calm and connection. On 27 February 2015, Cotton announced that she was expecting her second child as part of her announcement that she was leaving BBC Radio 1.

For anyone looking for uplifting and spiritual books to help them on their personal journey, I would recommend this read. Fearne's love and more importantly belief for the spiritual and mystical is obvious from the outset of this book and she makes a really strong case for why all of is should invite a little bit of belief into our own lives, too.Her next book, Happy, talks about her own experiences of happiness (including some of the not-so-happy ones), and was published February 2017. In her new book, Bigger Than Us, Fearne Cotton seeks out the insight and advice of wise minds to explore what they can teach us to achieve happiness, connection and hope. It’s so powerful that when we refuse to see it, we create a vicious friction that separates, causes suffering and sparks war. Cotton is a friend of fellow TV presenter Holly Willoughby, with whom she has co-presented several shows. In 2009, she climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, alongside Ben Shephard, Gary Barlow, Alesha Dixon, Ronan Keating, Denise Van Outen and Chris Moyles, and Girls Aloud members Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh.
