I wonder if there's a lot of variability on the pressings, because what I have sounds fantastic, great range, no distortions, no noise.

Weird bass sound in redbone but other than that it's pretty clear and well balanced; BG did a great job on this imo. Every record is shipped in original factory-applied shrink wrap and has never been touched by human hands. WOW this packaging is way overdone, the box is as thick as a 5lp box set, for a VR headset that became obsolete in less than 5 years.When I bought the record and (tried to) take it out, it stuck badly to the inner sleeve, which is made out of this plasticy material that seemed to have been designed to attract as much static as possible.

They put 25 min of music on one side and it's really audible how quickly the quality degrades because of it (usually the limit for a side is ~23 min due to the physics). Quiet sections are fantastic, loud sections could maybe be a bit louder in my opinion, but I really do think this is a fantastic pressing, and the mastering seems very good (but I am a mere pleb so take that with a grain of salt). You could argue that Childish Gambino became a great hip-hop artist when he stopped rapping, but that would be unfair. As it is not in shrink wrap but instead a resealable sleeve, it may indicate it could be Record Industry that has pressed this release.is the third studio album by American recording artistDonald Glover, under his stage name Childish Gambino. Both of the discs on my copy look like they came out of a wood factory - absolutely loaded in surface scuffs and discoloration spots, and it plays noisy as shit.

But I think I prefer the 1 disc simplicity, I can mostly ignore the sound quality as I really enjoy this album. Really wish Donald paid more attention to this release, especially with how phenomenal Because the Internet was in terms of packaging and sound. Much like André 3000 and Kanye West, Childish Gambino seems to have realized that his music can be just as resonant, if not more so, when he brings a hip-hop sensibility to vocals and melodies, and leaves the bars behind. I didn't have the issue of noise or crackling on mine, but as noted on other reviews for the other versions, mine seems VERY quiet compared to my other LPs.This record is in a tough spot because it's that weird length where it's too long for 1 disc but too short for 2.
