Back in Black received positive critical reception at the time of its release, and it has since been included on numerous lists of "greatest" albums. These sort of generalisations are a bit dangerous, because technology changes the parameters considerably between the introduction of stereo in the mid sixties to the digital take over in the late eighties, but I think that they are pretty accurate for 1980. My copy has the same issue as many others have reported, first 2 tracks sound fine and after that the quality declines. Its sort of an unwritten ideal to not stamp past 300 presses with a stamper, so if they stretch to 500 . Many surface scuffs and light scratches which cause light noise throughout, much more noticeable in quiet parts and in between tracks. The only reason that I do not give this a 10/10 is because there are 2 other albums in my collection that surpass it. Media has scuff marks and has a bump on Side 2, song 1 and there is a little surface noise but generally plays fine. AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born brothers Malcolm and Angus Young. Aussie presses are very very good, and they generally did not stretch the life of the stampers to far, because the population base was so small, they were not compelled to.This version has the speed shown as 33⅓ RPM with the text Made in UK immediately underneath on both labels. Especially the last track of each side, the distortion is unbearable, the high notes drown and the vocals become "raspy". I have to admit that I am biased in this review as its my type of music, but even so, I would recommend it to anyone, no matter if they just want it for casual listening or otherwise. I do have a better setup than Vasthope and considerably more vinyl so that makes me an authority on this.
