About this deal

In an ideal world, you would be able to have a mounting system that is perfectly simple, lightning-quick to install and remove, totally secure and infinitely durable… But in reality, there’s usually a bit of a compromise between those various characteristics. Needless to say, they are essential when cycling at night or if visibility is poor, making lights a must-have during the winter and a smart addition to your bike even in the summer. It’s important to choose a light that is bright enough to keep you safe, but not so bright that it will blind other road users. With the optics swapped out, there was a good spread of light to help pick out turns and a good throw of light down the trail with plenty of illumination, so you shouldn’t need a second light source. It still has the optics from last year, for a seriously impressive beam spread, even with the standard 19-degree beam pattern.

There are 30 modes, with claimed run times starting at 32 hours for the 400-lumen setting and dropping to one hour 30 minutes for the 8,000-lumen max-power mode, although it ran for slightly longer in testing. It's not the worst interface I've used on a light, but neither is it the most intuitive; given the sheer volume of modes it's a light that would benefit from some kind of editing functionality, to let you choose the ones you're going to use.The AMPP 800 has a bright, wide beam and the rear light has a clever system that uses two separate LEDs that enable you to run the light flashing and constant at the same time. Its light 30g weight limits max run-time to one hour, but the two-hour recharge is useful for busy riders. mAh) Quick release handlebar mount (fits 22-35mm) Quick release helmet mount Magnetic battery cover design Low battery, charging and fully charged indicator Automatic fully charged cut-off system USB remote control system Side visibility Water resistant USB port Water resistant (IPX 4) Mode Memory Day Flash Mode Size: 115.

Bike Lights Set, Super Bright Bicycle Light 2000 Lumen LED

As you can see they are different, but not to the extent found on some other lights, for example the Ravemen PR1600 that's one of our current favourites. There’s plenty of power on offer from the two LEDs (plus a daytime running light strip), which can be operated independently. The spot is fairly focused on the front of the bike, but its good power output means beam spread is okay (though not amazing) with the standard lenses installed. Modern batteries have made this a bit more economical because you can now charge the batteries of many quality bike lights. Does seem to smash through the battery, so suspect I would need to cycle between the top two settings for a typical ride of 90 minutes. Another well-made light, the IP67-rated X2 comes with three spare lenses to tune the beam pattern, plus you can customise its modes via an app.

Despite the head unit’s diminutive size, the beam’s gentle green hue is well-balanced between spot and flood, giving a long throw down the trail. These specs are based on pairing the PWR Lighthead 2000 with a PWR Bank Large to create a PWR Mountain front bike light. The 900-lumen setting is more of an emergency turbo boost mode, but battery life on the 800-lumen setting is excellent, providing just over two hours of run time. The tool-free bar clamp is easy to use and provides a very secure fit on the bars — the light not moving or wobbling around during testing over a variety of terrains.
