You can use fluorescent orange paint to customize a plain pair of pink boots for the flowing lava look, or you can search online to see if you can find a pre-designed pair of Lavagirl costume boots instead. Lavagirl wears a pair of dark pink boots with glowing orange lava streaming down around them, as well as wrist cuffs matching this style. She also has a circular belt-like accent at the waist of her suit, pink and orange in color. It saves me so much time, especially when I am layering different cuts of fabric to get 3 dimensional elementsto the costume. I used 2 layers of felt glued together, the open shark mouth was cut out of the top layer, then I layered design elements on top with another layer of felt. I used fabric glue to attach everything here. Sharkboy wears a gray bodysuit with shark-inspired designs. This includes silver body armor on his chest and wrists with red-accented gloves. The armor on his chest features the shape of a shark’s open mouth with pointy teeth.

DIY Costume Items

For the Lavagirl costume, Idecided to just glue the pieces of felt on a matching sweatsuit. It’ll help keep her warm in our cool October weather! So I had her put on the sweatsuit and used my fabric marking pen to mark out the general design (referring to a picture on my phone frequently). To make the “lava” really look like it was on fire, I also added a single string of gold sequin ribbon right down the middle. This Sharkboy Costume is a plus size outfit that's officially licensed from The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl movie. It comes with a gray jumpsuit that stretches to fit and features printed details on the exterior to make it look just like Sharkboy's armor. The foam chest armor fits over the top of the jumpsuit the is shaped like a shark's face in front. The matching gauntlets and boot covers are both made out of foam, and the boot covers are designed to work with most pairs of shoes. That means you can wear your most comfortable pair of shoes with this outfit! Once you have it on, you'll be ready to team up with Lavagirl to protect Drool from any villain! Sharkboy could easily rival Jaws with his own set of pointy shark teeth! To get a similar set of teeth as this superhero’s, you’ll need some fake costume teeth. Any pointed Halloween monster teeth will work. Outfit: While Sharkboy can be impulsive at times, it's important to remember that he is also intelligent and can make good decisions when necessary. You may want to show off this side of his personality by engaging in deep conversations or solving puzzles at the party. I layered the fuchsia felt on top of the gray felt to get a burnt 3D look to the lava pieces. Then I glued them on around the sequins.
